You are the man, wleeb... Thanks for the clarification..
One more way you really helped me out: I used your ebay link that you included in your original post, and checked out the kit. From there, I opted to "watch this item" in ebay (not ready to buy it at the time).. When I went back to it the next day, it had somehow changed to a different combination of parts, and the price had changed to $249!!! I guess the original auction timed out, so ebay just re-routed me to the next available similar "product".. I thought I missed out!!
But then, in your reply that you just sent again (re-attaching the ebay link), I clicked on THAT link and it took me to the same kit that you had originally posted- with the much better price of $129.. I ordered it right there on the spot! Thanks again for being so helpful. I will be installing my Sirius kit probly next weekend. Too busy already this weekend!
WLEEB your DIY video was great. I did the install last night and everything worked out great. I would have completed the entire install in about 45 minutes, but the easiest part, connecting the cable from the Toy to the SCC1, took me an hour and a half. The cable kept coming out with little to no force. I had to figure out a way to keep the cable from disconnecting. A twist wire took care of the problem and now I have Sat radio with the kit I bought on ebay. Again, thanks for a great video

This is common it seems with aftermarket plugs you need to bend the tab up more so it clips in

You currently hold the record for fastest Sirius install using this DIY.
Wleeb.... Awesome Video! I installed XM today and noticed the screen for the center speaker is solid except for the speaker cutout. Same thing on both the drver/ passenger dash speaker grills. Great Idea though!!!
My last truck 04 F150 I installed the antenna under the the vented plastic between the windshield and hood...... worked great.
If anybody has any ideas on where we might hide the antenna..... lets hear it.
Did you do it! How did it work out? Where did you mount your antenna? How is the reception? I am hoping to get mine installed this weekend and I am wondering on the best place to mount my antenna. I am not too picky.. I do NOT want to mount mine under the speaker grille as I think it will block too much signal, but I was thinking of just hot-gluing it to the top of the speaker grille...
Any other suggestions regarding a "cleaner" place to mount the antenna- where it still gets good reception?

Wow, what a great set if information. Thanks for the videos.
I had been holding off on installing my XM/ipod interfaces due to figuring out where/how to install the XM antenna (dash, windshield, roof, etc.) All seemed to require alot of work and I was not convinced that any one location was better than another. After seeing this I figured I would give it a try. It works very well. About as well as the factory XM in my Honda Ridgline (former, that is.) It's going on about two or three weeks since installing and I am very satisfied with the reception.
