Not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but this is the same issue they had with the Lexus GX470 and the 4runner 4x4. I had to have the exact same parts replaced on my Lexus....odd they didnt figure this out for the Tundra.
One is a "clunk" when I go over a speed bump or back up and stop on an incline. Sometimes does it just when I turn and stop in reverse. Toyota had the truck, said they "adjusted" something... got the truck back... same exact problem.
The other is a "clunk" when I come to a stop... which is what this TSB is for. My '06 had the same problem but much worse... everytime I stopped it went "THUD". Took it in and was told..."That's just how it is."
Really?
Anyone else have the same issue as my number one? '08 Crew Max... 4WD... 7,000 miles...
I've read the entire thread and posted multiple times as I have the clunk and have had the driveshaft replaced per the TSB. I was simply asking Jungleboi69 to describe the symptoms of his particular truck since he said the TSB cured his truck. I know of two people in this thread including myself that the TSB has not helped.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were asking a specific person. I thought you were just looking for someone to summarize what had already been summarized about 10 times. Try quoting when you make a reply, that way everyone knows who you are asking.

I have only had my truck for a week and unfortunately have a very similar clunk or minor bump when coming to a stop and more so when accelerating from a stop. It's very annoying. I saw and read the TSB but my truck should not be affected according to the VINs posted. I'm thinking of taking it in and bringing a printout of the TSB.
What do you all think?
Thanks for your opinion.

funny, i noticed this right away with mine. i took it in and asked them about it and they said it was NORMAL. every vehicle does it. i then went on to tell them about my nissan, and how that did the same thing after about 20k miles. then at 25k miles, i blew my rear diff turning a corner.
I think you might be my dopleganger. I had an early year 2005 Nissan Titan with a leftover steel diff cover. The trans. started slapping then it went out around 25k miles. They replaced it with a new axle and an aluminum diff cover. Now I have an 08 Tundra with the drive line slack. Let me know if you win any money in the lottery!
This is a bump to keep this thread alive. Did anyone actually have this done and did it fix the "clunk/bump" when accelerating from a stop? I think I have this issue on my 08 even though my VIN doesn't match.
Thanks

I had TSB fix done on my 2007 and it did not fix the problem. If anything it made it worse. My dealer says they'll let me know as soon as they know of another so called fix. I haven't called Toyota yet but i'm about ready to just to see if they can shed anymore light on this issue.
