If you have had your truck's settings changed with a Techstream, will disconnecting the battery erase these settings and change them back to default?

Hasn't on mine...seatbelt still doesn't chime, and auto-recirc still doesn't auto-recirc. I've done the disconnect several times.

Techstream settings stay; radio settings and trip meters dump.
As someone else said, to prevent stalling on the first attempt, turn the key on but not to start, turn the key off, then start and it will work the first time.
The improvements from the battery disconnect are only temporary; you can achieve the same results after a couple tanks by driving gently. I have tried this several times, get very excited when I see the 470 mile range on the trip computer, but within a couple tanks it's back where it always was.
To verify I tried hot-rodding for a tank, then drove gently the next tank to see if the mileage came back up and it did.
So if you want to squeak the best mileage out of your Toyota, go ahead and do the battery disconnect trick. Just realize your right foot pressure is what will really have the best (or worst) long term effect.
BTW, I regularly get 17 around town, never less than 16, and that's with a lifted 5.7 4x4. My highway mileage above 70 is still only 15. I think I am probably more light-footed than most as I tend to get the EPA highway rating around town on all my vehicles. For example, my 09 Venza V6 AWD only has 2300 miles, EPA rated 18/25, my lowest tank was 24 and I usually get 25 around town. Like the Tundra, though, my Venza highway mileage above 70 is no better than around town, as I still only get 25 cruising at 75.

Rear Susp: ProComp ES3000 #326510 (2.25" taller than stock), 1.25" blocks plus PRG mini-pack (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...and-new-truck/) gives 2.25" total lift, parking brake cable bracket spacers, wheel well height 43." Front diff and rear ds drop; trailer hitch electrical harness tucked up above bumper. After 20K miles swapped 305/65/18 BFG AT for 285/75/18 Toyo AT, still on stock 18x8x60 offset TRD wheels, about 1/8" clearance to sway bar. Like the extra height but miss the width. Next time either 305/70/, 295/70, or 35x12.50/18. Added 5th 285/75/18 Toyo AT as spare. Bed Bounce: Stiffer E-tires are worse than stock P-metric; biggest improvement from PRG mini-pack, slight improvement from shocks. Still a stiff ride but tolerable now. Best things about this truck: 5.7 and transmission, interior size and comfort, very quiet at high speed. Worst things about this truck: bed bounce, no VSC in 4wd, mileage sucks above 70.
Techstream settings stay; radio settings and trip meters dump.
for anyone else that cares - if you have bluetooth phone settings / numbers - those also stay after batt disconnect

I have less then 600 miles on my CM and I get 12.9 mpg or less. Tire pressure is fine. I think I need to reset the mpg computer and maybe the ECU reset via the battery. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well you are not even out of the 'break-in' period yet for the 2nd gen Tundras...your mpg's should improve after some more driving. I'm not so sure a batt disconnect would help at this point, wouldn't hurt to try though...

I also just did the HC mod and Battery reset before my trip to San Diego From Vegas.. No improvement in mpg... slight decrease though... but after a couple hundred miles it went back to my average which is about 16.2-16.5 but no increase...

Not quite. Looking at all your Mods, especially the 22" tires, might be a clue. My truck is totally stock, 18" wheels, run the cheapest gas I can find, 37k miles, and it still gets the same mileage it did when new....17.5 around town, 18-19.5 @ 70mph freeway. Hit 23 mpg once, but had a good tailwind. The calculated mileage is always within .5 mpg compared to the onboard display. Go figure..........

Nope even when my truck was stock it was the same, but if i drove like a granny yeah my mpg would go up to 17 or 18 but idk how can u drive a 381hp fun factor truck like this like a granny!.

that's exactly the point. this truck can be driven by *grannys* or *hellions* and everything in between. stock truck mileage will be between 13-17 just like the sticker says for the *average* person. Are you average, worse than average or better than average? that's the question of the day. I get *average* mileage when I drive without thinking about what mpg i get. when i am conscious of mileage to "see what i can get" then i beat the 13-17 EPA estimate hands down. I have said in several other threads that mileage is all about rpm's no matter what model car/truck you drive. EPA estimates are fairly accurate for the *masses*. EPA estimates can be worse or better than your particular driving style - but you also have to consider many other factors.
Even if we ALL conceded to attempt testing best MPG with the same driving style (which we all know is quite difficult even with just two people TRYING to drive exactly the same way) - there are many other factors to consider: do you have RCSB, DC, CM, 4X4 in any combination (all are different dry weights of course), are you carrying additional load - do you have an extra 200, 300, 400+ pounds in your truck, do you have taller, fatter or heavier tire/wheel combination than stock, do you use cruise control all the time, some of the time, none of the time, do you live in an area with *lots* of hills, no hills, lots of rain, lots of wind, is your *highway* driving at 65mph, 70mph, 80mph, do you use 85, 87, 89 octane gas, blah, blah, blah - blah, blah, blah.
I still maintain (and will till I die, cause I'm just that kinda guy) that if you bought an 07/08/09 Tundra expecting that you would always get XX% more out of the EPA rated MPG on the window sticker than you are a fool. I'm sorry for you. I really am. I am crossing the line here, and my post will probably be deleted - but its the plain truth.
The phenomenon about this truck is, in my opinion, is the fact that it has 381HP to be used at your disgression - you can romp on it and blow other stock trucks in your dust occasionally - or you can drive it like a *granny* and get well above EPA rate mileage. I have an 08 LTD CM 4X4 (for mods read my sig) with 26K and if I put my mind to it (drive like a granny for an entire week) I can get between 18.5-19.5 mpg (full tank of gas, using digital readout OR hand calculation) going back and forth to work in Houston - and I live 30 miles from downtown, which means I definitely have to go through stoplights, stop signs and fight traffic. I can also drive *normal* on that same route for an entire week and get a mere 15.5-16.5 MPG. When towing my 4000lb popup i get anywhere from 12.9-14.1 MPG (and I've towed this popup about 6K out of 26K on odometer). I don't think you can ask anymore out of this truck - truly amazing for a 6000lb hunk of metal. that's all i have to say about that.
