I'm ready to jump on the bandwagon here...I'm still waiting to be contacted by unichip so I can make my $100 deposit. If this unit increases your fuel mileage by 10% it should pay for itself in about 20-30k miles. I wouldn't mind a power gain either. I'd really like a sub 6.0 second 0 to 60 and a low 14/high 13 quarter mile with this big truck...maybe I'm just dreaming

Mike will probably be contacting you today. Did you see the Car and Driver comparo thread showing a 6.1 0-60 and 14.9 1/4? It looks like they tested a Crewmax. The DC should be at least at 6.0 0-60 stock and members here have done mid 14's 1/4 with DC's. With cai, exhaust and tuner, you'll be well under 6.0 and at or near 13's 1/4. Regular cabs will be hunting Lightnings for sure. The Unichip has netted .3s increase to 60 stock.

How about you actually read ALL of the info posted on threads before you post? The chips are pre-tuned for mods. they are tuning for a majority of intakes. I've already posted which ones, and you can add TRD to it.
Again, THERE IS NO ONE SIZE THAT FITS ALL. To maximize a chip's benefit (tune), a dyno is needed. Is the factory program a good starting point? Sure. Is it better than a tune on the dyno? No.
I just can't see putting a chip on a vehicle knowing it's going to lean it out and not put it on a Dyno and check what it's actually doing.
Back to the question I asked, is anyone doing dyno tuning with the Unichip?

Im almost 100% sure that me and nola are both getting our trucks dynotuned at corr performance.
We will be able to tell what made the most difference as we both have different exhaust and intake setups.

What exactly is your point? I think its been well covered that to MAXIMIZE a chips potential that it needs to be dyno tuned. Uh, Unichip IS dyno tuning for their truck. The tune will be conservative enough to account for all vehicles, but yes if you want to MAXIMIZE for your truck, then you will need to tune. Which i will do eventually.

My local Unichip tuner has already told me that he will run the truck on the dyno and check the A:F for $100. If I want additional tuning, I'll have a $100 credit toward that. Apparently, many of you people that are complaining about this have not had much experience with the costs of tuning other vehicles. My 2003 Cobra for example, over $600 for the dyno tune ON TOP OF the $300 (I think) for my flash tuner. $599 + $100 for the tuner, dyno, and A:F check? Sounds prefectly reasonable to me.
Why the hell would some of you guys install aftermarket parts, especially a cai, without an A:F check? You DO realize that airflow and exhaust mods lean out the A:F by themselves, right? Better to get it all fine tuned AND safe so that you get everything that you've paid for. I am very confident that Unichip will deliver, and the fact that they didn't rush this thing to the market should be proof of that.

The tuner will be my first power mod. I'll give some before and after numbers with no other mods, then go again when I do the Airaid and Corsa. The tuner is the smartest first mod IMO, don't want to blow up that $30K+ investment over $599, do you?

To clarify, I know that it would be more cost effective to buy the unichip mapped for cai/catback, install them all at once, and get it tuned after that...but what fun is that?
How many of you guys would like before/after results for JUST the tuner, then with mods? That way, you can decide where you want to spend your money. I know that I can't wait on everyone else to do the research and post the results for me, so, I'll just do it and find out for myself. Then, I'll post the results for you. You're welcome, lol.

I talked to Mike T. again as well as paypalled him my $100 deposit. I will be keeping track of power gains (per gtech) & mpg (per hand calculated) so that those who didn't get the unichip (for cheap) on the first go around can get on the bandwagon later. From all of my research this sounds like it should be a great product for our trucks...now for the hard part...waiting!

hi, i belive this group buy will be 1 of the best . why? some have said they are going to do a step by step process. to show each and every gain of each and every mod.
for the 1st time, this is going to have a major impack on many aftermarket + or - in HP & torque. by doing each item 1 by 1 and dynoing the results of each.
oh, by the way, this isn't cheap to do. so i'd be greatful to anyone who does this.
wether or not you like the results or not.
i would like to say thankyou to anyone doing this.
i know the cost factor, of such a adventure.

Has anyone seen the supercharger threads regarding the speed limiter being removed when all nannies are turned off? Mark with TRD Sparks told me that on their dynos, they have gotten both stock and supercharged trucks well past 120 mph with traction and stability turned off. Mike with Unichip will be testing this to make sure that it is repeatable. If this is the case, then the speed limiter is not something we even need to worry about

People probably want to get rid of their speed limiter without having to go through the 10 second "pre-flight" drill of pushing and holding buttons.

The easiest way to do it would be to reverse the default settings. Maybe at start up, traction and stability are off and you press the button to turn it on, for say rain or snow. I'm not sure most people even knew that it can be turned off though, I didn't until I saw the post. Its not something I'm going to test out Maybe one of you guys can try it out on an open road with no traffic. I highly advise everyone to get Z rated tires, and sway bars if you plan on doing 110+ in this truck.

I wish the TSC and LSD were turned off by default... but I'm guessing we are not the majority and people would be complaining that they wrecked their truck (their fault most likely) on bad roads because the traction system isn't on by default.....
Also, from reading this it looks like I missed the Group by on the Unichip? and it still isn't available as of today, correct? Bummer since I may end up getting one for each truck but was hoping to save a little on the first "guniea pig" chip.

Nope. The group buy is still open. Just pm me your email address.
Mike will be contacting everyone again to verify all info before the units are programmed and ready to ship.
