So the price for the unichip + Flux is how much for people who did not get into the group buy?
The chip itself is $778 regular from unichip and I think it was to add $220 for the flux in the GB not sure if thats a GB price or the regular price to add, could be more. But the chip alone is 179 less in the Gb, than regular from unichip.
I have been corresponding with JAck debating on getting the Flux or not...mainly for speedo calibration...well, this is from Jack in an e-mail "The tire size can be changed within the Flux software – but no adjustments are crossed over to your dash."
So, the speedo display will not be fixed, even with flux. "Tire correction is only done in Flux – there would be no reason to do so on the basic unit. Tire size correction is only for display use, and does not affect any performance numbers."
The flux is basically a data recorder and display, "The programming of the Tire Size correction will only be valid once you pare your Unichip, Vehicle, and Flux adapter. To be specific, the Unichip nor Flux Power Display Software does not alter the speedo on any vehicle. However, what the Flux software allows the user to do is show visually on their PDA a corrected speedo value. As for the ability to tune, there are no features within the software to allow for end-user tuning. The Flux Power Display Software is designed for capturing performance data – RPM, speed, lap times, etc. "
I chose to go without FLux because I was just wanting it to adjust my speedo...not too concerned with seeing and recording rpm, speed, and the like.Just throwing out what I was told and my decision. I have GPS in my radio anyway if I wanna know my actual speed, acceleration g's, lateral g's, and skid.

This would only make sense, becasue (if the 2007+ Tundra's are like the 2006's) the speedo signal comes out of the ABS unit, then into the dash, then from the dash it goes into the ECM.
So a piggy back ECM unit couldn't be used to correct dash readings.

The Flux also has the ability to hold five maps versus just two with the basic unit. Flux currently does not allow end user tuning, but I was told that it is in the works. If you think about it, with Flux, you have the ability to download maps from Unichip and upload to Flux and then download to your tuner. All it would take is for an update to the Flux software that allows end user tuning on a PC. There are certain features built into Flux that aren't accessible yet, just waiting for software to be developed.

so if i wanted speedo recalibration due to running larger tires, it will still require the hypertech? correct?
Though I'm not that familiar with the Hypertech unit, if it changes the dash speedo, then yes. I was unaware that the Unichip did not change the speedo on the dash. I though the dealer was able to recalibrate the speedo for adjustments in tire size.

hi, my 05 i think originlly came with 15" rim's before the added x-sp package with 20" rim's and tire's. 265 55/20. when i ran across those rador trap's showing my speed, it was dead on.
now i went up to 295/45/20 and still dead on.
so i wonder if there is something to it.
when i installed my unichip there was a added wire set up connected to the ECU unit that said something about speed calibrator.
so i think when toyota south east corp, installed the x-sp to my truck. they also added a calibrator?
maybe.
it's dead on. and my scanguage2 3.15version say's the same speed.

Well, we should be getting our tuners early next week! I asked Jack how it was coming along. See my conversation w/ Jack below.
Working on them as we speak. We’re currently testing the harnesses and will begin shipping them this afternoon or tomorrow. The non-MY07+ Tundra kits shipped yesterday and today with the exception of the guys who haven’t yet contacted us with their payment information.
Cheers,
Jack

If there are a member who bailed on this GP, will others be able to fill the spot?
I ended up having to get out of the group buy and basically just let someone paypal me the deposit and gave mike their info.I emailed mike with my situation and he helped me out by e-mailing a few guys to let them know that 1 of them could take my spot.
Oh well i guess ill see how good the unichip works on nola's truck.the doug thorley long tube headers are being installed on my truck this week so me and nola could both do a dyno together and race at local 1/4 track to see the differences.
