No. You know what you are getting with the Unichip, based on PullThis and Gorilla's first hand experience. Only NYCTundra and God knows what he is doing or developing. He has said that it will be a hacked tuner made by someone else. EManage maybe? IDK, but its not a Unichip.

Default Re: Tundra Tuner

although i have a 2005. i do have the 4.7 vvti V8.
i have the UNICHIP in my tundra. mapped for cai, headers, cat back.
i have the dyno sheet listed here.
rear wheel on the 4.7 is 210hp.
i dyno'ed & got 245HP. thats 35more HP to the rear wheel's.
and my Hp to the engine = 326HP up from 271hp with the new calulations #'s.

my dyno sheet was posted for me by idealtundra.
so if you did a seach of his thread's, you will find my dyno sheet.
it has a water mark across it.

fact is my 4.7 ever beat me, how is that for result's.
i have heard all the story's feels like, seem's like better, etc.
well i have proven results.

if nyc claim's he has the limitor's disabled.
i have to be honest here, i would go with him. just with that statement, if it is fact.
but nothing has been proven yet.
and
the unichip proposed buy, will take more time than nyc is telling you, his will be available to buy. so nothing is yet lost.
so do as you see fit, it's your money.

Gorilla, I found your dyno and I posted it in the group buy section. Thanks! Unichip has informed me that they can improve shift points and disable the speed limiter with a few adjustments to the hardware. i have asked them to look into it.

hi,i'm so glad you found my dyno.
and
i'm extremely happy that they(UNICHIP) will be able to disable the speed limitor.
unichip told me they couldn't do it for my 2005 VVTI V8 4.7,

but if they can do it, and will do it, so many will be happy.
if they will do it for my truck too, count me in , i'll just buy another UNICHIP pnp display module. so please let me know. ;-)
UNICHIP is a well established company. with proven result's.
JUST imagine if they make a map for the TRD superchager?
look out other's. your NOW way behind the 8ball.

No problem. I've asked Unichip to look into what's necessary to add the limiter disable into the p&p module. I'm waiting for their response.

Default Re: Unichip Tuner

I recently updated the group buy thread, check it out. I received a response from Unichip which talks about their Flux system. It's a PDA based tuning software program that allows tuning of the Unichip by the end user as well as a host of other features. This will allow much more flexibility in tuning our trucks, such as tire calibration, adjusting shift points and possibly removing the speed limiter. Even if you should trade in your Tundra, the Unichip can be removed and used on your next vehicle by simply changing the harness and a new map. They are adding new cars & trucks to their list daily.

Remember guys, this is a very well thought out and engineered system, not a rehack of someone elses. It comes with a full warranty, access to great customer support and comfort in knowing that if you have a problem, the seller can't simply disappear and leave you hanging. Not saying that would happen, but it should be a consideration.

Thanks

does this mean $599 for the Chip, then we have to take it to a tuner and pay him to set it up?

No. When you order your unit, you let Unichip know what mods you have and they will send it to you with a custom tune set up for whatever mods you have. It may not be set up for the EXACT cai or exhaust you have, but it will work flawlessly. If you want to squeeze a little more, you'll have to see a tuner so he can tune based on your specific parts and vehicle variances. You will never have to see a tuner if you don't want too. The tuner may only get you another 5 hp or so increase from the Unichip tune.
