No prob. I'm just trying to help as much as I can. Unichip really did a good job tuning the Tundra, but they did so on a certain truck under certain conditions, so if we don't understand the parameters its easy to lose patience and knock the product. If we run the B map on less than 93 octane we will have problems, if we change intakes or exhausts without changing the map, we will have problems and running a Tundra on the dyno period will cause problems, lol. The Unichip has all of the potential that we need to have a significant amount of control over just about every performance variable on our truck, more so than a flash tuner. You can't easily add FI with most flash tuners and the flash is detectable and easily overwritten by Toyota techs. New performance features will be released shortly that will greatly improve our driving experience. I can't spill the beans yet, but we won't be disappointed.

Thanks. Did you get the Flux software? How do you like it?
Yes, I ordered Flux, but I haven't received it because they haven't released it yet. If you're trying to decide whether or not to get it, I definitely would opt for it if you can. It will give you more control over your Unichip now and especially in the future. You can download new maps and update your chip without having to uninstall it and ship it back to Unichip. You can run up to five maps instead of two. It has a lot of other features similar to those found in the Scangauge and Gtech units built in and some others that will be accessed later on.

nola 1906, here's what i see. you did a group buy. thats it. you got it together and got 50 pople that wanted the UNICHIP tuner. since at this point there wasn't anyone alse out there that anything available for the truck.
many people were satisfied with the power results, etc of there MONSTER tundra. so YOU, got a great deal for them. end of story.
now from what i have been seeing is some happy and some unhappy.
my issue is why are you in the middle?
if they have a issue, they need to contact UNICHIP directly with there issue's.
what more do they want, maybe they want you do get there money back to.
saddly not eveyone that has used unichip has had success. why? guess it could be a million reasons.
so again what does it have to do with you. maybe your just to nice. i would direct all questions to anyone who might have a issue to contact UNICHIP directly.
you can't fix there unit can you? NO, so why would you continue to drive yourself crazy.
you mean well, and in my opinion did way more than you should have done.
if you don't cut this loose , you will be here a year from now, still being the middle man.
it's not your company nor is it your product.

Gorilla,
You are absolutely correct. I appreciate your post a great deal. I could in fact opt to step back from it all and disappear from this thread and website completely and so could Unichip for that matter. God knows it would save me a lot of time. The only reason I choose to do so is because I want all of you to be happy with your trucks and I also have developed a relationship with the guys at Unichip because they really appreciate what I have done. They are a good group of enthusiasts who have devoted a lot of time and money into producing the first P&P tuner for our trucks. They truly care about making sure we are satisfied with their product, but we can't expect them to go overboard with answering our every complaint, especially if they know it isn't an issue. The tundra is just one of many different applications that they have to focus on. They can't just survive off of our truck alone. So, I devote some of my time to trying to answer everyone's questions as best I can. I'm just an armchair tuner/mechanic myself and I'm wrong sometimes, so I'll contact Unichip and have them explain certain things to me and I'll relay them to the board. If it does become a negative constant back and forth, however, I will start to pull back, and if I do, so will Unichip because I'm their representative on this website. I don't think that its gotten to that point yet with most people. I don't think That1Seven has been negative, he just needs to speak with Unichip to fully understand what happened on the dyno. Others who have posted on this thread are trying to be negative and I'll simply ignore them.

Just from the skipping around that I have done and the few dyno sheets I have seen........It seems alot of results have fallen short of peoples expectations. I understand why Unichips refuses to post dyno runs if this is the case. Please correct my if I am wrong, but nothing seems as great as they anticipated. ( or did I just look at the bad graphs?) With all my Chevy's the torque increased more than the hp when using the HPIII. I am seeing the opposite here.
Let me clarify, I am not bashing..........I just want a good honest answer.

I think that the results show that Toyota had the timing and fuel pretty good already on this 5.7.
The dyno of the custom tunned Unichip showed a nice gain on torque across the "limited" curve.

Hello all my name is andrew (sandimasauto.us) and i did the custom tune on the ryder276 tundra. I would just like to say i was only able to get steady 2nd gear pulls. I use a mustang dyno and they are setup to run as close to 1 to 1 gear ratios, so the #'s you see are low on the dyno runs, also, if you do the math i think you would find the gains to be greater, but that being said the gain at peak is around 10% but the gain overall is more. Unichip is the best piggy back on the market, and we tune them all, we even do stand alone systems like motec and efi. We do a lot of tacomas, and if the tundra is the same, i think the big problem is the factory tunes. We have seen afr ratios from 11 to 14 with only intake and exhaust work so i think the base map may need some work to get it to work on your tundra. my2cents
Thanks for everyone's input. Sometimes it's hard to type something with out sounding negative. Glad it was not taken that way. So far the cost vs the gain is very questionable. Props to Unichip for being the first to crack the codes and produce some thing. With everything, there is improvement over time. I am sure this will be same.
