The problem with this is it doesnt just take off the speed limiter. It also takes away your traction control AND ABS breaks. you really wanna go that fast without some of those safety items? Great for a dyno, your not going anywhere.

That's all I plan to use it for is the dyno. I would never plan on doing it for the street. If anyone is worried about sharing this information in the thread, please PM me. I don't want someone to be running around with their VSC and ABS turned off.
Is it me or is there really four different settings for the tuner?
First--all the nannys on 87 octane (normal shifting)
Second--nannys off 87 octane (shift points changed--more delayed shifting)
Third & Fourth--about the same as second shift points
Is this just me or is it all due to the Tundra learning different shift points?
Can turning off the nannys be read by the tuner?
Am I crazy?

Ripped off? did u see my gains? I know it's not supercharger gains but figure this. I paid $600 for the chip and gained 24 horses 57 torque. That's $25 a horse and $10.50 a ft/lb. Supercharger cost 5k and gives what 120hp and 148tq more. That's $41 a horse and $33 a ft/lb. Plus no lag (lol jk). Im not comparing the performance between the 2 cause its apples to oranges, just comparing the dollar per hp/tq. I think it was a pretty good bang for my buck. Good luck waiting for something else, or something as good.

ok so add $250 to that, so total of $850. That's $35 per hp and about $15 per tq. Still better gains per dollar. Plus im getting better gas mileage. Keep in mind this is on 87 octane. When I get some extra cash ill do the 91 tune.

Then I was very lucky to buy when I did. Im sure there will be other group buys.
i was hoping the default setting on the chip would have done that tho.. you know?
spending that much
i emailed unichip today, lets see if they will get back to me

I'll agree the price of the chip is steep but I don't expect the one tune fits all deal. Every truck is slightly different in one way or another and many are driven in different environments than Unichip has tuned for. It's nice to have this tool so that we have the potential to get the gains that socal has gotten and that was only on 87 octane. When I get mine, depending on money of course, I'll probably leave the "A" setting as it is and get the "B" tunded for 91 octance which is the best I can get around here. Hopefully by the time I get mine Unichip will the the speed limiter disabled with the chip itself so I don't loose my ABS!
So I went to the track today and I have good news and bad news. The bad news being that no matter what I did, or how I launched, I ended up roasting tires, on one run about 1/4 down the track. The good news is that even though I couldnt get traction, I ended up with the same ET and trap speeds as I did before when lauching wasnt a problem. Once it hooked up it pulled so much stronger than before but my best time ended up being 9.3 @ 75.69mph.
I know once I figure out how to launch better, I'll be comfortably in the 8's no problem. Side note is I beat an S2000 by .2 although he was going 5 mph faster.
I dont know how those diesel guys do it with all the torque they have, guess its just gonna take some practice.
