Here are some more unichip equipped runs (#5, #6, & #7) below...once the weather clears up I will run some without the chip installed and different octanes of fuel...the proof will be in at that point.

Keep in mind that the gtech mph in these runs is about 5-6 mph high as I have seen in the past from comparing it to actual dragstrip passes. I have one of the old radar detector looking gtechs that I have found to be accurate to within a few tenths.

Truck & Mods: 07 double cab 4x4 trd 5.7 with magnaflow exhaust, modified (elbow removed & additional 1.5” air hole drilled) stock air box (runs 1-4) with drop in filter, self ported (sharp edges smoothed out) throttle body, unichip piggyback (set up for airraid intake & exhaust) with switch set for maximum spark advance & high octane fuel (runs 1-5 and 7). All runs are with 92 octane.

Run #1 (2wd vsc on) – similar to what I would expect the average driver/tester to run
6.02
14.59 @ 99 = 94mph

Run #2 (4wd, brake boosted & stall flashed)
5.54
14.02 @ 102.6 = 97 mph

Run #3 (4wd, brake boosted & stall flashed)
5.60
14.06 @ 102.6 = 97 mph

Run #4 (2wd, vsc off, very good/lucky launch)
5.58
14.06 @ 102.9 = 97.5 mph

As you can see the times in 4wd (runs #2 & #3) were very close. The temperature was about 65 degrees at about 400 foot elevation. I only had about ¼ tank of premium in the truck so that probably helped too.

When I get a chance I am going to see what it runs with the airraid installed as well as without the unichip.

After owning a number fast vehicles over the past 10 years or so my butt dyno would say the truck feels like a low to mid 14 second truck so that goes along with my results. The truck doesn’t pull real hard at higher speeds, but it launches pretty well due to the low gears and 6 speed tranny.
Run #5 (4wd, 70 deg, airraid, map 1 for premium fuel, worked t.b.)
5.57
14.06 @ 102.9 = 97.5mph

Run #6 (4wd, 45 deg., unichip MAP 0 for normal fuel, airraid, reworked tb)
5.75
14.42 @ 97.4 = 93 mph

Run #7 (4wd, 45 deg, unichip Map 1 for premium fuel, airraid, reworked tb)
5.36
13.84 @ 103.8 = 98-98.5 mph ---yes this is really what it said...I ran at the same location as many of the other runs---no I'm not ready to call it a 13 second truck until it actually runs a 13 at the strip.

More Data to come.

Now with my driving habits, I have seen a huge gain in map C. You just cant dump fuel in the economy map unless you are at half throttle or higher. Honestly I cant stay in map C for long amounts of time!!! you see I like to drive fast (lol)
Your truck is friggin sick! I'd like to know what kind of numbers a tuned RC can put down at the track. I might have to send mine in to get that new map.

As much as I would like to, I can't say for sure when I'll have a chance to go to the dyno or the track. If I get it dynoed, I want it custom tuned as well, and I want to wait until I can get my custom exhaust before i do that.

This was directed at someone who already has the Unichip which obviously doesn't include that purchase cost. A good tune still costs between $300-$400. By the way...I have to drive 5 hours 1 way to get my tune.

Then...Why would someone be concerned about the cost of a custom tune if they don't have a Unichip? If someone is that concerned they shouldn't buy one.

Video please!

I'd love to see some video of the speedo and tach under dead stop acceleration. It'd be nice to see improvements.

Show me that 30 mph tire scratch, please something!

I've heard that the trucks computer will relearn everthing over time and compensate for the unichip to the point it doesn't have any benefits. Is this true??

I want to buy a tundra but won't until the tuning options get perfected.

Thanks for the help.

LOL, I hope not. If I had just bought something that absolutely rips and does all they say it does. I'd be posting video left and right showing people how great it is.

Dyno numbers are great but the proof is in the times/acceleration improvements. You dont' need as much power if all of it is getting to the ground.

For $1,100 to $1,200 investment it'd better make me pee my pants I'm so happy.

I was one of the first to get my chip and ended up having the wrong mapping and the harnesses were very short. The guys at Unichip took care of me and covered shipping. They actually gave me a brand new unichip with the correct mapping and the new harness that is a little longer which makes the install much better. Only thing is some trucks like my 07 DC need to have the 3 bolts holding the relay and fuse box mounts loosened so you can get the bottom harness connected. I haven't tried it on the 08 CrewMax yet but it's always gotten better milage than the 07 for some reason so I haven't bothered. With the correct mapping I noticed a definate power increase even with the 75lb TOYO MT 33x12.50's and my milage went up about 2 mpg even though the onboard milage guage is reading about the same... can live with that. I just put my winter setup with stock rims and 305/65 BFG TA KO's and believe the milage will go up more as they are lighter and gear the truck slightly higher. I'll know after a couple tanks of fuel on that for sure. Also going to race the 07 and 08 when I get a chance to see the difference... 07 has 275/70 Toyo AT's on it so tire height and weight is very close between the two and should be a fair comparison. One note... when taking both trucks to the scales it seems as though the DC is 200 lbs heavier than the Crewmax... doesn't make sense. Has anyone else seen this or can verify it? Haven't looked at the specs on the Toyota site but guess I could....

Is one 4wd and the other 2wd? One TRD and the other non-TRD? Both tow package?

Both 4x4, TRD, TOW, etc ...Crewmax has JBL Sound and Sunroof which should weigh more.... Just a thought but it could be the tires and rims and the 5th wheel mounts on the DC. Still funny that the extra box length is about the same as the Extracab length...

haha i was being sarcastic tho.. my dyno sheet was on page 33? or 34?
only way to get real whp is getting custom tune
other than that .. i don't believe my truck is much faster, might be slower
but the gas milage ehh? i don't drive enough i guess to see the difference..unlike some people on here
