For some reason I'm having problems with quotes, but to answer not2fast's question, there are currently no maps created for the TRD supercharger. Unichip is trying to get one in for testing. If you purchased one, it wouldn't come with a base map. You would have to have a certified tuner create one for you from scratch. This may require quite a bit of dyno and tuning time. You can also buy one now for the discounted rate and hold onto it until the map is created by Unichip, then update your tuner. It's totally up to you.

I would hate for you guys to miss out on this deal, but its up to you. Dyno numbers can be altered purposely as well as by changing conditions. I personally haven't seen any verified dyno's for the exhausts and intakes that cost as much as this tuner and almost everyone has bought. We trust each others feedback on these products. PullThis and Gorilla have provided positive feedback for the Unichip. Any tuner capable of leaning out the AF ratios and advancing timing will make power, that's just basic. This unit, however, is capable of much more. I have no problem doing a before and after dyno once I get mine installed as well as another dyno after it is tuned.

hi, i wish i could be more help, i think unichip would be able to answer many more questions than i.
i provided the dyno sheet as proof of result's & thats good enough for me.
i am extremely happy.
when they disable the limitor, i will have it reprogrammed, and than bring it into a unichip shop to have it, custom tuned & dyno'ed, and what i've been told, i will see even higher results. YEPPIE!!!!!
gorilla
Where is the dyno sheet posted?

Until I see verified results I am going to hold off. So, for you guys that are definitely in, make sure to get a before / after dyno!!!
I'd rather spend $200 more than everybody else if it kicks a$$ as opposed to spending ~$600 for nothing but a bunch of hype.
yeah i will do one! i have a friend who owns a dyno jet so he'll hook me up
but i still wanted to know which combination was the best
which intake and which exhaust

Unichip is a reputable company. But I think I will wait till some dyno charts come out too. Hearing anywhere from 20hp-50hp gains is a long stretch on a stock Tundra. Sounds like a little marketing thrown in there too. Not knocking it, just would like to see some charts to back it up. So once you guys get them. Post a before and after dyno session.
This is a response I got from Unichip. (Once again I am not ragging on them, just sharing info. They are a good company)
We are currently still testing the product. We have not released the #’s yet. We have has some customers that are posting on the forums claiming they are seeing 55 BHP and 35 at the wheels. They have said 40 lbs of torq at the wheels. We have also improved the gas millage. And really increased millage under a load (towing 5000 lbs). we have also taken a half second off the 0-60 times.
I hope this helps.

i guess once unichip gets specific testing done for the various performance mods set ups, we can see what the real numbers will be. one would wonder why unichip didnt do some real world testing such as accelaration numbers when they put the unit out for sale. this would have eliminated alot of unecessary speculation from potential buyers. seems like all of the builders of these chips are so hush-hush about there products and not releasing pertinent info that would help consumers say yes or no to the product.

Thinking I will hold off as well, Unichip must have done mult. runs in there testing of this product. So why are they not releasing the #'s is the real question, not the numbers obtained !

Another problem is -- all the engines are not created to the exact same specifications everytime -- thus a statistical devitation from the mean resulting in numbers across the board everytime you have a group test.

Exactly. They have quite a few Tundra owners out there with chips already. Unfortunately they aren't frequent posters or members at all. The only member we have is PullThis, and he hasn't posted any dyno numbers yet. He has stated an increase in power and torque as well as much better mpg's even when towing. Unichip wants to make sure that the numbers are repeatable across a number of different trucks in order to prevent some people from B'ching about them being a few hp off of claimed numbers. I guarantee any numbers claimed by Unichip will be conservative to prevent that. They have claimed stock numbers of 20 hp nd 26 tq. mod numbers take more time. Members of this group buy aren't Beta testers, but we are not that far off. All bugs have been worked out with Alpha and Beta testers such as PullThis. We are Pre-release buyers, which is why we're getting such a good deal. This is an introductory price. They may hold another group buy sometime afterwards, but the discount won't be near as much, especially the Flux price. At that point in time all numbers will be released. Sometimes you just have to take the plunge instead of dipping your toes in the water. If you have paid 400-600 on an exhaust and intake, you are an enthusiast and your next logical performance upgrade is a good tuner. This is it. You can't truly take advantage of bolt-ons without one. With this 5.7 liter dual VVTL-I engine running pig rich in the 10's, the power is already sitting there waiting to be unlocked. 20 hp stock and 40+ modded isn't a stretch.

I agree to a point. But if you know your truck (which I do know mine) I could guesstimate the approx gain. In the 1/8 mile my truck runs a solid 9.1 at 95 mph. I don't care what they do, they can not cover everyone's truck as far as what numbers they will actually put down. But they could post the dyno numbers as well as the track numbers on the test vehicles and what mods have been done. They fact they don't post this, makes me very suspicious of the product and it's performance. They need to post the data if they are charging twice the amount of money for the domestic programmers and a piggy back system at that. It's just good business.

I understand everyone wanting dyno numbers. i've asked for them and i've been told they will release them shortly. Regarding price, to be fair you really can't compare domestic programmers with this imports. Domestics provide their ecu encryptions to the programmers. They don't spend hundreds of hours just trying to crack an encryption like import manufacturers.
