Default Raptor Side Steps

I installed my stainless Raptor side steps yesterday. I know this is elementary for most of you, but I thought I'd take some pictures and make this little DIY paper for this great forum. This article shows Raptor bars going on an double cab, but it should be very similar for any "no drill" bar on any cab configuration.

I recently installed the GoRhino Dominator II side steps to my crew max and found them very easy to install as well. Your detailed pictures are very appreciated by those of us that were hesitant to do it ourselves before!!

I think the bars are a great value. The mounting brackets are very sturdy and the stainless is polished to a mirror finish. I really wanted a bar that didn't curve back toward the truck at the ends. I looked at all my local auto stores for straight bars but couldn't find any. Then I found these Raptors online with a great price tag. They only cost me $199 shipped.

Thanks for the DIY!

I'm thinking about buying these but I'm confused. When I find them online it shows the 3" curving back in not straight. What site did you get these from for $199?

Thanks.

Im installing the 4" oval raptor bars right now I got for $270.00 shipped and wanted to confirm the bracket nearest the front of the truck should only be held on by one bolt instead of two like the center and rear brackets?

Curb71,

Can't help with the question...but...What site did you get the 4" from for $270? I'd probably jump on them.

Also, let us know what you think when you get them on.

Thanks!

I actually figured it out myself. I used the .pdf that OPiNiCUS made which was great but the two things I was unsure of was the order of the bolt, lock washer, and flat washer. Figured out the order (which Im sure would be obvious to anyone else) is starting with the upside down bolt, then drop the lock washer on, then drop the flat washer on then twist it on in. Other than that I looked at the vauge instructions that came with the side steps and it showed that the front bracket actually does only attach with one bolt.

Everything went on real easy once I figured that out and I really like them. I agree that they look better then the much much more expensive factory running boards IMO. The one downside I think is now the truck looks a little lower to the ground so I now really want to get a 3" lift.

I got mine from mechanics-warehouse.com. you can get the 3" ones for $200.00 shipping included. Mine were $274.38 shipping included which after lots of shopping around seemed to be the best price and they were simple enough for even me to install.

Anyone have pics of the 4" oval Raptor bars or the Raptor bull bar installed?

I'm thinking of installing on my 08 CM 4x4 but would like to see how they would look before ordering.

Thanks

Thanks for the pics Curb71

It's hard to tell from the angle of the pics, do the nerf bars stick out further than the outer edge of the tires, if looking from the front or rear of the truck?
