So my truck was vandalized and the paint on the passenger side fender was ruined along with some of the hood and a horribly stained chrome front bumper. I am debating on 1 of the following changes when being repaires:
1. Leave it alone and replace what was there... Chrome lower bumper and chrome grill.
2. Color matched grill and keep the chrome lower bumper.
3. Color matched grill and replace SR5 chrome bumper with color matched bumper (since the bumper itself is cheaper, even with new brackets they will cost about the same)
4. Color matched grill with Line-X chrome portion of bumper and paying extra out of pocket to line-x the rear bumper to match.
Right now I am leaning toward either color matching the grill and leaving the bottom chrome portion alone or getting it line-xed.

I would color match bumper and grill. I have Ltd (they come with painted front bumper) and I would prefer to have a color matched grill, it will look better with some aftermarket grills.

The only reason that I was swaying myself away from color matching the bumper is from little pebbles and things kicked up chipping it up. the chrome will hold up much better. I don't like chrome, so my other feasible solution would be black line-x but I would HAVE to use the XTRA additive to keep it from fading.
It was vandalized at work I think (noticed it after I washed it) and it looked like someone took something very acidic and threw it on the fender... I will take pictures of what is left on the chrome as I tried and mildly succeeded in buffing the paint almost all the way out. Unfortunately I had the dealer help and they burned the paint off on the bumper so I gave up and placed a vandalized claim on the insurance for 250 bucks and not rise in rates. O well, I suck again!

Toss up between 3 & 4, LineX is tough, check out 123Gone's web site there is a pic of my Salsa Red Crewmax in the picture section, It looks real nice in the bed and would look good on the bumpers, I have more pics of the bed if you want to see them, oh and sorry to hear that some Ahole has no respect for someone else's property.

I have line-x in my bed now which is half the reason I would like to get it on the bumpers... it looks awesome, but I heard it fades badly over time. Not sure about how badly it would fade with line-x xtra on it though...

The Xtra is supposed to be guarnteed not to fade, had mine for about 6 months now and it is still as shiney/glossy as the day they sprayed it. I have even thought about having the grey plastic insert done so it matches (somewhat) the rest of the bumper (limited).

Well I think I have decided to color match the grill and keep the bottom chrome and the rear bumper chrome for now. If I start to get the premature rust like some have, I will immediately line-x everything to prevent it from getting worse... Now I have to decide if I want to fill the insert at the top of the grill like semcoll did on his salsa red...
