Quick thanks to 07DCwhiteSR5 who helped me despite my extremely dumb questions. Couple suggestions for those as electronically handicapped as myself...

On your blinker bulb housing where the 3 wires connect there are numbers where each wire enters the housing. Mine is as follows on both sides:

Slot 1 --> Purple wire --> that is for the parking light
Slot 2 --> White and black wire --> this is the ground
Slot 3 --> Pink or Red wire --> this is the blinker wire

These were the same on both sides.

When pushing the wires through the engine compartment and into the cab I used a close hanger with some paracord/string attached to it and pulled the hanger through after creating a hole with a screwdriver. Once I had the hanger pushed in to the cab i tied the cord/string to my wires and pulled it right through in to the cab. This made things 100% easier....Trust me, i spend two hours yesterday without any string and it was the worst. Use this same concept when running through wire through the cab and in to the door through that rubber grommet.

The other thing I'd reiterate from 07DCwhiteSR5 and others is when you are reassembling the door panel....After you have reconnected your lock, window controls, lights, etc...you need to lift the door panel high and let the top of the door panel come to rest of the door itself where the window raises out of. the door panel will actually hang from this spot on its own. From here you just push in all the snaps and the door is on no problem. Again, trust me, this saves time b/c this was another 2 hours from the day before.

All, this is the first project I have ever done on my own aside from changing my oil. If you are encountering something hard, than there's a better way of doing it. Once I actually paid attention to everyone else's suggestions, this job was a piece of cake. Don't be shy to ask me and I will help anyway I can.

excellent posts...i will be working with this issue soon and wished that i could see the pics as well. does this address a way to get not only the lights working but also using the limited switch and getting the motorized folding option to work as well?

Smile Re: W pics, Tow mirror install on Non Prewired SR5 DIY wiring

I did this the harder way. I bought the door wiring harnesses from a dealer in Houston plus the AC/Heat Control module. Cost about $400.00 all together. Now all functions of my tow mirrors work and I have all factory wiring and parts in the truck. Just wish these babies would fold in with the push of a button. I have to get out and pull the right one in to get into the garage or roll the window down to pull the left one in at the bank or Sonic. It was an easy change out. To replace the AC control module you have to start with the dust panel under the driver side dash on the lower left, pull the panel below the dash then pull the dash part wafy out. Now pull out and replace the AC Control module. Took me about 45 minutes to do it all.

So the none of the tow mirrors work with the push button fold-in option??? That kinda sucks. Those are the mirrors that would need it the most. I have a limited with electric heated/folding/binker options and want to convert to tow mirrors with same. Any know of any?

I already have the tow mirrors on my '08 SR5 DC and would love to be able to fold them in with the push of a button. I have to fold them in every time I garage it and with the console in the middle of the front seat it is a PITA to fold in the passenger tow mirror. Anyone know of a way of auto-folding these huge mirrors?

I just got an '08 Tundra DC SR5 yesterday (I'm loving it so far). It has the heated mirrors, so I think it should be easier for me to change out to tow mirrors (I just ordered those on ebay today).

I would also be interested in hearing if anyone knows of a way to auto-fold these tow mirrors. It will be so much easier to pull into the garage if it was folded in.

yes, with the heated mirrors its just a plug and play for you. an no theres no motors so no way to auto fold them...only the limited mirrors have that option....its been asked tons....only ford has the power fold tow mirrors that i know of...now if someone can take those motors and build a set for the T
