TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Reversing seatbelt chime, Help!", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Well I have noticed that my passenger airbag "on" light does not come on with someone in the seat and I have read that could happen with this mod so I went to find my springs to put back in and can not find them. Would anyone be willing to part with theirs? Thanks
Aren't they about the same size as the one inside a ball point pen?
Most hardware stores also sell many sizes of springs, you might try that.
You could also hit up a wrecking yard, most newer Toyota's are going to have a similar assembly.
Good Luck

The ballpoint pen springs didn't work for me. After having the exact problem that you did, I bit the bullet and spent $45 at the dealer for a new seatbelt receiver assembly (very easy install).

Thanks MXSJW, I had to go through a few pens but found one that worked! Now the light comes on as needed. Put the driver side back too but no chime. Do you need to be going a certain speed for it to chime? Went up and down the street but nothing. Again, THANKS

Chime comes on over 5 or 10 mph...I forget which. (15 mph it's on for sure)
Glad the pen spring worked...send beer.
