Default First Time Towing

Well,

Finally got some time off for camping and towed my Travel Trailer.
28FT and 6800lbs, man this thing can haul, I was topping hills at 100.
I used Tow/haul and noticed the change in the shifts, but not too bad.
I was really pleased with the performance on the highway.

Wow topping hills at 100 while pulling a 6800 load?! Impressive. Your mpg was probably horrible lol.

omg. Are you serious? I am glad you don't live around here. That has to be the craziest thing I have ever heard. But ya, these things can really tow. Please be careful and good luck

I don't like to tow my car hauler faster than 70. Not because of the load, but because I don't think the tires are rated for anything faster. I've taken my teardrop to 90-95 without fear beacuse I put automotive tires on it that I know can take it.

In general, I don't tow any faster than 65-70 with either trailer due to the crappy fuel economy you get when you go faster. I've found 65-70 (in my case) to be a good compromise. Fast enough to keep up with traffic but decent enough economy. I got 14.3mpg hauling the car hauler with a load totaling 5700lbs (1700lb trailer + 4000lb car). Didn't use tow/haul but that's another story.
