Default Fuel injection cutoff

Afternoon!

I have an '07 Tundra and am trying to find out at what point (whether it be MPH or RPM) the fuel injectors stop/start supplying fuel to the engine (when you take your foot off the gas).

I understand that almost all fuel-injected vehicles will stop supplying fuel to the engine when you take your foot off the gas, as long as you stay ABOVE a certain speed or RPM level. But once you drop below that level, the fuel injectors restart their supply of fuel to the engine.

I have read that the cutoff point is TYPICALLY at speed x or COMMONLY at x number of RPMs. But someone has got to KNOW WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY where the cutoff point is on an '07 Tundra.

Does anyone know the answer to my question?

Thanks so much.

Scott

Save and read these, the information you seek is contained within...

6 speed transmission

5.7 part 1

5.7 part 2

Have fun, you might want to find a comfy chair and get a couple beers.

it would be at whatever RPM your idle is set at. that would eb the only logical answer. and why would you care to know something like this anyway??

mxsjw, thanks for the info. Looks like interesting reading....ish. :-)

It's a fuel economy thing. But since I'm not crazy enough to put my truck (automatic transmission) in neutral and coast down a hill in at 75 mph, it really doesn't matter. I'm just on a quest to find out, for informational purposes at this point.
