Mine was doing it so I dropped by the dealer and told them to order me a vent.
When I went back I asked if it arrived. "Yup, we've got the vent here. We've just got to make an appointment to bring it in the back and install it"
"How about you just give it to me and I'll do it?"
"No, we've got to have the old one back. Let me punch you up in the computer and bring it out back" He starts writing up a service ticket.
At this point I walk over to my truck, pop the dash panel off and the vent out, walk back over to him and hand him the vent. "Can I have the new one now?"
This totally caught him off guard. He kinda fumbled then reluctantly went to get the vent. He says, "you know if you mess up the install we wont cover it"
Not if you fold it into a really small thick piece and crap it between the bottom vent, its hardly noticeable and then you dont have to worry about the techs at the dealership screwing anything up.
I guess thats a decent temporary fix if you're able to fold it up well and make it not visible.
