Question 2nd Cat delete

Hey guys I'm putting a custom exhaust on my truck, and the question I have is if I delete the 2nd pair of cats will I still pass emissions, or should I just leave it alone and go from the flanges? My setup will be as follows, 3 inch tubing to 3 inch H pipe to SLP Loudmouth 2 mufflers, and dual out the back with 3.5 inch tips. Let me know what you guys think.

Both pair of cats have ecu monitored O2 sensors( 4 total). If you remove the cats it will code the truck.
If it were me I would just replace from the flange back. Good luck, Cheers, Robert

I would probably leave the cats. You could use some MIL eliminators/cheaters and you can probably pull it off with no engine codes. My only concern would be loosing so much backpressure using a true dual 3" system and deleting the two rear cats.

BTW, soundclips are mandatory! I havent heard an slp system on this truck, especially if you delete the rear cats.

The second cats are after the O2 sensors removing them will not code the ECU. Several have done it here on the board. I personally wouldn't do it but it's your truck.

The stock system on the Tundra is pretty good. You take out too much backpressure and you are going to lose performance until you get to the very upper RPM's. Remember, torque throughout the RPM range is what gets you going fast. Peak H.P. is only that, good at the peak. Go a little smaller on the size of your system and you will still get the sound you want plus a very small amount of performance boost. On the tundra, if you look at the H.P. per dollar spent on aftermarket exhaust, your spending a lot of money per HP. A stock truck might still take you because it is making more power down in the lower RPM's than you are.

Your truck will still pass emissions if you get rid of the second cats. Unless you have other modifications in mind that can take advantage of the minute increase in exhaust flow, it won't be worth your while. If the TRD supercharger can add it's power through the stock exhaust system, I would doubt the second cats pose a considerable amount of restriction.
