I took mine to the dealer and they said I was the first one to complain about this. I then pointed out their parts truck is doing the same thing so they are looking into it as they do not have a clue on how to fix it. I still haven't heard back about it yet. My warranty is almost up so I figure I will just let them deal with it.

Unless you'll be there for other work, this fix literally takes a few minutes, doing it yourself will save you a trip and a day wasted at the dealer.

It is going to be there to replace my radio anyways plus I want them to deal with it so if it sinks anymore I have a record that there is a problem. If it ends up sinking later I might stand a chance of getting some help then.

Xcanuc why are you having them replace your radio? Are you upgrading to the navigation?
Thanks

I actually used a 2" long piece of 1/2" rubber hose. It compresses nicely when wedged between the dash & lip. I didn't take out the glove box. Just shine a light straight up under the dash & you will see where to wedge the hose.

It has some problems so it will be just a straight replacement. I tried to get them to throw the nav unit in instead but they wouldn't go for it.

In terms of the cause of the sinking dash, is it just a matter of getting a proper clip or two from the dealer? I thought I saw something about missing clips in another thread.

Nothing against the homespun methods of course...

I asked my interior trim guy at my dealer about it a while back and he said all they are dong is filling the gap with felt too. They use the same fix for the creaking dash problem also to tighten up the space between the loose clips.
