So I read this thred last night....this morning got into my truck and the first thing I looked at was the right side of the dash and sure enough it's sagging!! Then all I did on my 45 minute ride into work was look and the damn thing!! I guess I'll have to take into the dealer.
Same here!
But I'm gonna leave it unless it turns into a crater before 3/36 is up.

Thanks for posting the fix. Mine has been sagging and squeaking since the day I bought it. What an easy fix this was, I don't know why I waited three months.
I'm getting ready to pick mine up from the dealer today for a sinking dash, non-working satellite radio and a squeaky passenger seat. They said the dash was normal and that all the Tundras they have are the same way. It's really funny because the last time I was in there to get it fixed they replaced the a pillar on the passenger side and it seemed to work for a while. About 3 months later it began to sag again. I think they're tired of seeing me in there every week or two. Probably time to find another dealer.
I know this has been covered before but I have a few pics of the shim I made that seemed to work for me. Seeing that there may be quite a few trucks with this annoying problem, I thought I would post a small DIY on how to fix it.
I cut two blocks of wood (size depends on application) and wrapped them in duct tape. I used two, one near the edge of the passengers side dash and one over about 8". My dash had waves in it so I was trying to smooth it out. You have to take out the lower glove box and some of the side plastic panels to access the upper dash from the inside. You will feel a metal lip underneath the plastic dash and that is where I wedged my shims in to bring up the dash to meet the side pilar. Here are the pics.
Before and after.
Man I thought you had lost it. I looked at the pics first and was wondering why the heck you had a stick of butter cut in half laying on your dash.

Can someone that has had theirs repaired from the dealer post which dealer did the repair. Mine cannot figure out how to fix it.
Thanks.
Steve
Precision Toyota in Tucson did the repair for me. They put in a new dash and used foam to quiet the dash. There are 2 TSB's out right now so there is no need to do it yourself if you still carry a factory warranty.
LOL mine is sinking also in the same spot. I will just shim it like these guys are saying, better than a trip to the dealer where they will break something else.

Any more pics and where to look for the sinking dash? Is it only on the passenger side by the a-pillar? My dash has never aligned even with the passenger A-pillar in the corner and is about 1/4" lower than the A-pillar ever since new. The driver's side is even. Is this where the sinking dash problem is on the passenger corner upfront or where else to look for? I'm confused?

Yeah, most of us all have it on the passenger side corner where the A-pillar is. I heard some others talking about the center dash warping a little too. I'm still debating wheter I want to take mine into the dealer though it's been months hahaha, don't trust they will put everything back together correctly, but again I want it fixed. Ticks me off when I see my friends, friends dad, my uncle, and neighbor tundras don't have it! Even more when I hear about people taking it into the dealer, and get the answer "That's completely normal" BS!

Thanks, I'll be going in next week to see what they say about my corner dash not lining up even with the passenger A-pillar. It has always been like this since I bought it new 2 years ago, but thought that was normal. I, like you, hate to have dealers mess around in the dash and make things worse or break something and not letting you know they did it and after warranty is up, a metal bracket or pieces of plastic come falling off under the glove box. I have to go back in anyways to do a little one on one with the service mgr. and request to have them repaint and remove rust spots below and behind the rear double cab doors along with replacing my rusted lug nuts they said warranty will not cover. I'm glad forums like these exist so consumers just don't think everything is normal when it really is not and should be fixed while there is still a warranty left. The problem is in 2-3 years after warranty, most, not all, of these problems mentioned will be present again on the Tundra due to the fact that the fixes are band-aids and the real problem is with the design and engineering of the tundras.
