I thinking of getting a truck LTD with TRD package and want to know how bad are the trd tires for those woh have them and have replaced them ! Will they be able to handle daily drving on the highway also driving cross my back yard and going threw mud every now and then when I go firshing !
The tires are "OK" and will handle light off-road condition. I wouldn't go through any deep mud with them. On the road the squeel like a sick pig going around corners at even a slow speed. This makes my wife B*#tch and complain that I'm going too fast when I'm not. I will personally replace with a different tire when they wear out. I've got 40,000 miles on mine and will get about another 10,000 miles out of them. I think that 50,000 miles is pretty good considering the weight of the truck and I drive a little aggressive.
I'm not talking real deep mud just light puddles every once in a while have the tries always squeal I haven't driven the truck yet. Does every one's TRD tires squeal is it loud to the point of being a pain in the but. Also do all the LTD tundra's come with compass in the mirrors also did they have puddle lamps when doors open on the outside mirrors !
mine don't the bfg's are great tires the michellins i'm not too sure about but you should be a-ok driving in mud whens the big day ? i thought you already had your truck

Not sure whens the big day maybe saturday I had been looking and picking what I like but never signed the paper work for anything. I'm glad I waited as it might have been hard to get 10g's off as they just started advertiseing this deal. I might see saturday as the 06 is going to be over due for an oil change as I haven't been paying attetion to the light 32,500-oil change at 32,835 I drive 50 plus miles to work.
I think they are the worst tires I have been on in a long time! if you are talking about the BFG's They hydroplane something fierce when it rains...So bad it is white knuckle driving or 45 mph the whole way! they have terrible snow/slush traction also. I have gotten used to bridgestone revo's on my last truck (tacoma).
Check out the reviews on www.tirerack.com they are pretty poor-average.
The rugged trails are what they are. My first week I pumped them up to about 40 lbs as they seemed to soft around corners. They gave as good mileage as you will get on your truck as they are a relatively light tire and they were very quite on the road. They also got me up and down the mountain in the snow several times. They will certainly do as a daily driver tire and get you where you want to go but would question them with a lot of continuous weight or offroad in rocky terrain. IMHO

I have them but instead of replacing them I have another set of TRD rims with winter tires, so I just use the BFG's in the summer. They're OK in a bit of mud, I work on construction sites but it's not like off-road use. They seem just fine on the highway and gravel roads. They are very poor in the winter though, snow and ice had the traction control beeping away like crazy. I wouldn't buy a set but I'm OK with using them until they're done.

I'll attest to the squealing around the corner. I don't care for the factory BFGs at all. My old Tacoma came stock with BFGs, and they were no good either. I switched to Cooper ATRs (when it was time for new tires), and absolutely loved them. Those will be the next tires on this truck as well - unless I find someone who wants to trade their factory 20s for my TRD factory 18s!

Not very good tires at all. You are not going to get a high quality tire on a truck when you but it. They will do, they just don't do very well. They do squeel a bit around turns and aren't very good in the snow. I made it all thru last winter, so like I said, they will do. I have 21K on them and will replace them by early November before the snow flies. My Son said the Tundra has the worst traction of ANY vehicle he has ever driven in the winter. I keep telling him it's the tires. I'd rather not go thru another winter with the ragged trails.

They are downright dangerous in the winter. My BFG Rugged Trails had no traction. I even slid backwards out of my own driveway onto the road after backing out of my garage. I applied the brakes and the truck didn't stop. Lucky nobody was coming down the road at the time.
The next time I purchase a vehicle, I will negotiate an amount equal to getting a good set of tires.
I'm running with Dueler Revos now and they are far superior to the stock garbage.
The Rugged Trails would probably make a good tire swing though.
So I wont have a problem with driving in the rain here doin't get snow in Ga hardly ?
You will be fine with them. For the most part, I hear people complain the most in the snow. I don't think that is going to be a problem at Warner Robins
I have them on my truck. I only have a 2wd (b/c that is all I really need) and besides the squealing sometimes taking turns, they get the job done. You won't see me wasting any extra money getting new tires before these wear out.
If I was in the snow a lot....I'd probably score a second set of TRD rims (since they are easy/cheap to get) and get dedicated snow tires.
When I lived in CO...this is what I did with my 05TL. I had 18 inch summer tires and a set of 17's in snow tires.
