So far, I like it. I've run about 1,000 miles since install (no others mods yet).
In town - 1.5 mpg increase (I expect may drop a little as the computer learns, and I hammer it more). From talking to Unichip, there will not be much change in mileage when not under load.
Highway - 2.8 mpg increase on a 400 mile trip, 65-75mph, half hills.
Noticeable improvement in low end acceleration, not huge, but definitely noticeable.
After driving for a while like an old lady, and then driving it harder, it would detonate a lot under acceleration. After driving hard a bit, the factory ECU adjusted (I assume) and the detonation stopped. Power was still good; mileage still good.
Unichip computer and harness look top notch. Install was a bit of a pain. Like others have posted, it would be much easier if the factory cable was longer (maybe Unichip could make a short plug in extension = more cost). Unbolting the electrical box helped considerably. I was nervous about getting the bolts back in after the Unichip was in place, but it was not too bad. To get enough slack in the factory cable, I also had to leave disconnected the clamp that attaches the factory harness to the firewall bracket. I used a plastic wire tie instead.
I did not know until receiving the package that premium gas was required. This cuts the fuel cost savings in half.
To mount the switch, I popped out one of the blanks and cut a rectangular hole in it with a dremel and reinstalled. See photo.
All in all - I really like it. There is a power increase, and it will pay for itself in gas savings, so I don't see a downside. I will post more after I get some more miles on it.
I like mine VERY much now after Andrew did the custom tune, --im pleased overall with the product.
Monday im going down and have my truck dynoed again with a fourth gear pull
and see how i stack up against socaliallstar82's numbers.

being that we basically have the same mods, you'll probably get a little more out of your truck because of the custom exhaust you have vs my flowmaster. Also a good way to see what puts out more my JBA shorties or your DT shorties.
Either way Im sure you'll be over 300hp. Wonder what those figures are to the crank. Do you just add them on top of the 381/402 or do you multiply it by something to account for the drive train loss?

Figuring out engine hp & tq with a wheel dyno are not very reliable. Some people will tell you to estimate 15-20 driveline loss, but it is really just a guess.
From Car and Driver
"There's no really accurate way to get engine horsepower from a chassis dyno," says Matt Harwood, marketing coordinator for Mustang Dynamometer, a major supplier of chassis dynos in Twinsburg, Ohio. Some tuners use the so-called 15/20 rule, which assumes a 15-percent driveline loss for manual transmissions and 20 percent for automatics. But, says Harwood, "I've seen losses as high as 35 percent." So unless it's printed in the brochure or was measured on a true engine dyno or by a tuner with tons of experience with your particular brand of car, any flywheel horsepower number quoted by a hot rodder under the shade tree is most likely just a calculated guess.”

Once again I have to agree with Rut; man you just make to much sense to me!
I to will wait on the updates; but I am very pleased with the performance of my Unichip.
Later...

You can't please everyone... Gettin Loose, you suck I want that updated map. I guess I'll wait until I get a custom tune and the rest of the adjustments are made. Certified tuners should have access to new maps if they have been released as far as I know. So, Socali and Ryder, Andrew should be able to load the new map for you and customize it whenever Unichip okays it. That's if you want to pay more money, lol.

NOLA 1906 It is my understanding that map A and map B are also updated from the original version!!! Map C will increase fuel economy in city driving. Its like driving a 4 cylinder in stop and go traffic. When I flip the switch to map B (performance plus) Its like I have launched a ROCKET!!!!! (LOL

Hey, thanks for setting me straight. I looked at the sheet again, and sure enough, it says mode 0 (map A) is "for all octane fuels". I drove it that way for the first few hundred miles. Now, I'm leaving it on mode 1 (map B) and running premium. I like the power. I'll try it on back on 0 after I get used to it a while and then compare.
