so a couple days ago we decided to load a quad in the bed of my truck.. it fit perfectly... without touching the tailgate.. we drive out to bla bla to ride it.. but my tailgate is jammed and will NOT open.
we managed to open it and get the quad out when we got back home..
and today i was putting some things in the truck.. it opened and then as soon as i closed it... it wouldn't open again...
has anyone had this problem yet?
There are alot of threads on this...the tailgate has a TSb out for the latch assembly...little plastic clips break..five minute fix if the dealer has the part in stock

the service tech at toyota told me that there was a new bulletin out from toyota regarding the jammed tailgates...
so what im doing tomorrow is taking it there, and they have to replace the whole locking setup.. putting new parts in other than that little plastic thing.
so if you have this problem... handle it asap
