TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "finally decided 6 inch lift...", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I think it will look a bit out of proportion. Not sure if you have the stock wheels or the 20" wheels but IMO the combination is going to be underwelming.
I like your idea about the 6" lift, I think Tundras just look better lifted.
I would set the $3000 aside and save up $1500-2000 more for the wheels. A 6" lift with stock wheels would look funny... but that's just my opinion. You'd be much happier with the outcome if you got it all done at the same time. Good Luck...

Oh what I thought you couldn't do the 6" lift without changing the wheels + tires... Thought it was required that you have to change them for whatever reason... I'm in the same position as you DIO, I got about $3500 saved up lol.

Sorry but the ARB Bumper was on before the 6" lift. This is the only other picture I have. I had these wheels on for 5 months or so until spring came; then I put on the 37" Monsters. People told me my truck was not proportional, I knew that already. So here you have it.

Ive seen F250's with lift's and stock tires/wheels...they look STUPID. IMO wait until you can afford to do the whole enchilada at one time.
I wish I'd have done the 6in lift!!

Or you can do like I've done - Not that is makes any financial sense- I purchased my wheels and tires about $3200 and had a Truxxx 3" lift put on at about a cost of $500 total. It looks pretty damn good IMO.
I'm having a ProComp 6" lift put on this week. The reverse order of your scenario, but its an idea.
Mine wont fit in my garage with a 6 in kit. Im stuck for awhile....LOL...make sure you post pics ASAP Frag !!!
