Default Quick Brake ?

My wife and I were looking at the new Sequoia's but one thing that she hates about them and my Tundra is how sensitive that the brakes are, barely touch them and they grab hard.

Anyway, it was late (8pm) and the sales person said that once she buys the SUV they can take it to the service dept and have the brakes adjusted to be less sensitive. Any truth to that?

Thanks in advance !

Sales folks will say anything.... no truth there. About the only thing I can think of off hand that will affect how a certain brake system bites in is pad compound... slots in the rotors can also do this. The TRD big brake kit will definetly create a different "grab"... If you really want to mess with him after the sale ask him if he likes the color of the calipers they will be installing to adjust the brake feel.

If it were true, try getting the sales person to have the brakes adjusted prior to the sale..... Anyone adjusting brakes for a lighter grab, seems like they are asking for a lawsuit if an accident occurs.

thats because the brakes are very new...after a couple hundred miles they wont feel like that anymore.

if an accident occurs, you would be glad to have brakes that grabbed so harshly...you should be thankful for good brakes

She would likely get used to the feel after a while. I found the accelerator (throttle response) to be touchy when I first bought my 06 but I got used to it.

Once the brakes are bedded they wont "grab" like new anymore. When new, rotors have a a cross-hatched etching to facilitate brake bedding which tends to grab more.
