Default Gear indicator

Wish they had the gear indicator on when in automatic mode. Can someone find a mod for that one.

Once you get used to it you can tell what gear it's in when driving in D. At this point I can tell the gear the truck is in just by acceleration feel and rpm's at a given speed.
Also the minimum shift points in the truck are as follows:

5-10 mph 1->2
15 mph 2->3
25 mph 3->4
35 mph 4->5
45 mph 5->6

That may give you can indication of what gear your in as well

It's a great idea, but not very practical. There isn't any output from the transmission ECU that tells what gear it's actually in.
