The bed looks longer than a typical crewmax, or is it? I didn't think you could get a bike in the bed of a standard crewmax with the tailgate closed.

Heck, you can't get a bike in the bed of a Double cab with the tailgate closed (or at least my R6 won't fit and it's not a big bike).

I was curious about that too.

Actually, with my R1 I can close the gate with the bike straight IF I have the right gearing so that I've got the rear wheel pushed all the way forward. Also, some bikes you can let out the air in the rear tire and that will give you enough clerance as well. I usually just slide the rear of the bike over a half a foot and can close the gate no problem. even with my dirt bikes which have a lot longer wheel base then any sport bike.

I'd imagine the Ducati truck doesn't have a "flat" back to their tailgate, it's probably hollowed out to allow for the rear tire. The powered ramp that desmo is on takes up space (front wheel chaulk), so that front tire isn't probably shoved right against the front of the bed. Which means 6.5 probably isn't quite enough for them either.

But taking out a bit of meat from the thickness of the tailgate (theirs swings out instead of down) and maybe making some room at the front of the bed would let it fit.

600cc bike, 6.5 DC bed.

Now i'm tempted to try to get a spare tailgate... or make some "sledgehammer" mods to mine to get the extra depth :P
