Ok, lets start by saying I have no problem ($$$ or otherwise) with aftermarket wheels. I just have a hard time finding something that looks really good on my Radiant Red Tundra. I want something with some black in it. However the choices are solid black (Goliaths'), or a striped look (Metal Moto); I dont like either. I use my truck to haul around clients, so it can't be super aggressive. So, I came up with this.
First, what do you think?
Second, how can I get this done? (Powder Coating..can powder coating be put on as a spot color?)
I think that looks pretty cool. I just refinished a set of Limited 20s that I bought a week ago and finished the job yesterday. I'll make a post later today when I get some pictures, but I went all black with a textured finish and it came out great. I understand about having to maintain a professional look, and mine would probably be a little too aggressive looking. Depending on your type of business, client background and your rapport with them, they might think all black is cool!

Yes a good referenced shop can do some amazing things with PC.
They will not be able to do your caps, just the metal.
I like your idea on the spoke centers.
I would also consider doing the inside top edge and leaving the outside flange and inner wheel like the spokes.
If you understand what I mean ..........

I have these wheels sitting in my garage waiting on a new set of tires, I don't care for the solid black or spoked either, it seems everybody has them.

Hey Boscatman,
have you looked at arim by a company.......MKW, model # 58?
IT comes just right for a tundra: 5x150 bolt pattern, 10.1 ( i know its exactly ), hub,and the reccommened + 35mm offset. And i think you wanted insde all black lips ,inner and outer, brushed alloy. Or they come in all crome.
Good luck, hope it helps.
I think one co. that has them are :Next rims........i think.

I thought about painting some 20" limited wheels that I picked up. I plan on picking up some of that water based paint that kids art classes use in elementary school. I know that it comes off completely with just water. This way I can see exactly what a certain design or colour will look like on my truck, and not be screwed if it doesn't look right. For a design like yours you could probably use electrical tape to see how it looks on your truck. IMO, sometimes things look better on photoshop than they do in real life. My 2cents.
Call a wheel repair shop (Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists is a reputable company that is probably in your area) and see what they'll quote you to do that.
i remembered seeing them back when i had my vette. its simply vinyl decal material cut to fit...go to a decal place (fastsigns or something) and see if they can do it....
heres the decals in the recessed areas...stock is complete silver like yours is....
well, thats prolly what i would do, go by the sticker place and have them cut some decals out to fit the spokes you want colored and try it out before the powder coaters make it stay.............

Hey basetundra - check out my albums, I just did a set of limited 20s in black and have pictures in there of them on my truck. Maybe that'll save you a little time and effort of the practice paint. Personally, I think they look great and have gotten a lot of compliments on them.

Thanks , yep, I saw yours before and they look really good. I just want to try a few things to make darn sure before I spray them. I really do like yours though and they look good on your truck. You should thank your wife/girlfriend for sitting patiently in the truck while you took the picture. Some women just wouldn't understand.
