If this has been posted, I apologize. Been away for a while.
My truck sits for 3-4 days at a time since I bought my bike. Often I have found the battery too weak to start it and have had to jump/charge it.
Today I took it in for scheduled routine service and told the tech about it. He said there is a TSB on a "'parasitic draw" from the ECU on the remote start module. They will replace it under warr.

Had mine in for an oil change...had to jump it before I took it in, was a real pain because there is not much room in the garage the way this big truck is sqeezed in. I told them I thought it was impossible that the battery was dead...truck had been sitting for about 3-4 days...lights cant be left on (they are auto) and were in the off position, the doors were all closed because the alarm was set and i had just enough juice to open the doors one time, there were no accessories plugged in. They told me that the lights will stay n if you take the keys out of the igintion with the the door open...I tested and this is not true. Do you have a TSB number? Are they replacing your battery too? Or just the module?

I'll call the tech in the am and get a TSB # and post it.
It is only relevant if the truck has the Remote Start option though. The battery is fine as well as the charging system. The ECU for the RS is what they will replace.

I have the RS so I would appreciate the info...seems the dealer wont ever do anything unless I have something to refer to...I think they just dont see alot of the repeat problems on these yet and they dont bother looking up the TSB's

Last week the dealer replaced the remote start module that was producing a "parasitic draw" and everything worked fine.
No problems with the battery dying. Till today. Truck has been sitting for 5 or 6 days and this morning only had enough juice to open the doors. Back to the dealer on Monday. They are useless.

Yeah those batteries they put in these trucks seem to have a lot of problems. I had mine become very unreliable after running it down a bit. Even after fully re charging it. Replaced it with an Interstate MTP and no more problems. This was a perfect replacement for the Tundra.
Have to be able to count on your battery!

Update.
Took it back to the dealer and now they found a dead cell in the battery. The numbnuts will replace the battery under warranty. Hopefully this will be it. I had no fun jump starting it at the airport in the rain.

Hello all, got a crewmax XSP and I notice the batt has some acid residue coming out from under the battery caps, do any of you notice this as well? I think its odd on atruck with only 4K miles
Thanks
Joe

Yes. My dad, brother and I all have the same issue with these POS batteries. Just take it to the carwash once in a while and clean the whole motor area.
As soon as business starts to improve, i'm dumpin mine and replacing with something better.
