Anyone seen the Ford internet comparision "Test" videos using Tundra, Ram, and Silverado in side by side tests? Just wondering how much doctoring up Ford did in the tests or if the video is pretty straight foward in comparing all the brands? If so then the new F-150 is the closest thing to the second coming as you can get. Just curious if anyone else has seen this, and what your reaction might be. I still think the F-150 is one BUTT UGLY truck, I don't care how well it did, and yes I still love my Tundra.
there are so many different model's of every maker. it would be hard to compare.
also you must consider who wrote the article.
until there is a test of all makers with the same exact truck power torque, weight etc, they could never be a fair comparison.
i guess that's why we all bought toyota's for whatever reason.

Having Owned both Vehicles... I will never go back to a Ford F-150 after seeing and personally driven both the Ford F-150 (2004 - FX4 & 2002 - 4x4 Models) & 2007 Tundra SR5 4x4 in action on the beach on a daily basis all year long.
The Tundra by Far Power wise puts the F-150 to shame in 4x4 mode in my opinion.
Keep up the great work Toyota .. 1 1/2 more years a NEW Tundra will replace my current one. I would not even think about getting a different truck again. Im Sold on Tundra.

After this being my third Tundra in a row I have to agree, my next truck (and it won't be for a LONG time) will be a gen 3 Tundra.

A guy at work showed me the video clips today..... Seemed to me like there was a little work done on the clips as far as the speed of the camera.... I noticed that some of the frames of the Tundra video seemed to be slowed down more than the video for the F150 to enhance the bed movement.
Notice that they only put SOME tests on there too.... I didnt see a video where a 7 foot tall guy sits in the back seat of both 4 door models... haha
For the Ford, this one would look like slow motion even at normal speed. Ford performance is beyond embarrassing, barely breaking 17 seconds in the quarter mile. That is truly substandard and will make for some frustrating highway merges, not to mention very stressful towing.
Regardless of how big an engine is in an inferior vehicle, it's still inferior. My Mercedes and BMW both have power windows, and so does my son's Cavalier. Are they now the same?
The Tundra's quality is so superior that there is no fair competition with current vehicles. The upside for truck buyers is that the lesser quality vehicles now have a higher target to aim for, and we all benefit.

my sister has an F150 and its downright SCARY when you are trying to get on the highway!!! They have ZERO pickup at all. It cant be safe, especially if you came from a vehicle that was capable of good acceleration.
I test drove an F150 before I bought my Tundra.... I didnt last a mile in it and I was ready to go back to the dealership. It was rediculous.
They do have a point in the "Hauling" part of the video, where the tundra has more body roll than the others. But I don't think it's a bad thing. It provides a smoother ride in everyday driving instead of jolting me around in the truck when going around corners.
a few weeks ago i was driving at night on a highway with a friend, and the highway climbs up hill a little bit. Well, I'm in the right lane and look over and see a good size doe on the yellow line. I told my friend that the deer was really close to the highway, and as I say that i look directly in front of me and a big buck was standing right smack in the middle of my lane. I didn't see the deer until my headlights shined on him, and going up hill 70 mph it's a little harder to see a deer than driving on a straight highway. I realize that he isn't moving, and without thinking I swerved into the left lane and then back to the right lane. I don't know how my side mirror didn't swipe him or something, but with a little body roll, I felt safe. I remember wondering why the truck didn't flip over. I basically took a 90 degree turn at 70 mph. The truck handled it very well. I don't know how the other trucks would compare in that same situation...
oh, and in the durability test, it looked like there was a lot more in-cabin shaking going on in the ford, than the tundra. Tundra handled it better than the f 150 in that aspect. The bed wags a lot on the tundra, but I don't know when the next time i'll be driving in a empty river bed to have that problem lmao

You guys that are saying the F150 is a piece of crap, pull your head out of your *&^. A truck with 300hp scary getting on the highway? Come on! I had the 06 FX4 with the 5.4l, no problems at all with the truck, very stable & quiet, good acceleration (not Tundra acceleration obviously) and pulled well (really torquey motor). My only issue with the truck was the gas mileage. Despite what anyone says I couldn't get over 15mpg on the highway with my F150. I've got over 20 with the 5.7 Tundra. With their 6spd auto now the mileage may improve but I would guess only slightly.

Yes, it was scary. And my experiences occurred BEFORE i ever even DROVE a tundra.
I live just north of Interstate 10, so I get on it every day, multiple times per day. I have been driving a V6 Tacoma since 01. Last christmas, I borrowed my sisters truck to drive about 10 minutes down the highway to the main part of town to get some stuff we forgot from the store.
I take the same entry ramp EVERY day with my tacoma and figured this new F150 she had would have way more pickup.
WRONG! I was really sweating it once I committed to getting on the highway with 18 wheelers at 70mph bearing down on me. I didnt feel like I was gonna make it. It had nothing.
Granted it's a Ford site and video, it's going to be propaganda. I watched the video a couple times and replay the section of the drivers in the cabin throughout the video shots and noticed that the driver in the Tundra is not shaken or thrown around as much as the Ford or others due to the rear end of the truck absorbing most it before transfering to the cabin.
I've taken my Tundra through many types of terrain with nasty wash board roads and it handles very well and better than my friends F-150, honestly. Having said that, I have to give Ford credit for handling that course very well according to the their video. But I prefer to have smooth power, quick acceleration and a comfortable quiet ride for everyday driving.
I have owned many trucks for the last 16 years and using it for it's intended purpose, I havn't driven on a river bed or speed bumps spaced about 5ft apart for 1/4mi at 25mph before. Does anyone know where I can find speed bumps like that to drive on besides Fords proving ground? The last time I remember going fast on a dry river bed was in one of my old friends dad's chevy truck when we were young and stupid. He was driving around 15mph on it after our duck hunting trip and he hitting a big boulder. It was not good.
