Default Re: Sway bar came with wrong bolts!?!?!

called trd this morning and they didnt have much to say. however they are 2daying me the correct parts so I was pleased with the fact that I didnt have to go to home depot to purchase anything. some of you commented on getting your bars from sparks, granted they are extremely helpful, they are not the cheapest place. got mine for under 220 shipped. shouldve had a sticker "WARNING CHEAPER MEANS WRONG BOLTS"... regardless i got out and hammered my truck today and it handled great. im still really impressed with it as a whole.

that big box with trd bar was getting on my nerves, as was even a bigger one with valley hitch for my SAP DC, so I decided to install both today.

as mentioned earlier, all nuts fit properly, no problems. bought from sparks.

Default Re: Sway bar came with wrong bolts!?!?!

Just chiming in...I got my TRD sway bar in October 08 for my 08 Tundra...it came with the wrong bolts as well. The dealer found out that there was a pitch difference in the threads between the bolt and nuts. TRD apparently is very aware of the issue and this was supposed to be a non-issue now. They ended up sending a hardware kit which solved the whole thing. There was some lead up to this final solution though...what initially prompted me to go in and inquire was, I had the wrong bolt count all together. After getting there...we discovered the pitch problem and the parts manager ordered a whole new sway bar kit. When it arrived some days later...it had the correct bolt count, but the pitch problem was still there. Thats when he called TRD Directly and got them to send the hardware kit. So...seems withing Toyota or TRD or whatever...they don't have their lines of communications operating very well.
