We got nailed today in Michigan with about 7 inches so far. Tundra drives awesome in the snow . Does anybody esle have a problem with the wipers. They are great in rain but seem to suck in the snow. With the windshield heater on it seems like the snow sticks to them then wipers ice up. Even with defroster on full blast . Anybody else have any problems. My last 3 Toyota trucks never had this problem.
I did notice that the snow and ice sticks to the wipers easily too. It is very important to keep the area right below the wipers clean of snow and ice before you start driving. Then keep the defrost on and you should be good. Just don't let the snow/ice build up too much before its too late.
After I park my truck, I prop up my wipers to keep them off the windshield while its sitting. The windshield is warm so the snow and ice melts, but then after time it gets cold again and freezes. This freezes the wipers to the windshield and then you are back to where you started. Just spend the extra minute cleaning the wipers and the heater location and you'll be glad you did. Its definitely worth it.

We also have had snow and ice this past week with more to come and the rugged trails are just fine for me. I have to drive 18 miles up and down some hills and the Tundra hasn't missed a beat but I see plenty of cars in the ditch.
Let me know how you make out with the Silent armors. I just had them put on my Tundra, but it's laid up so I won't be able to play with it for a while .
Will do! They're forecasting up to 20 inches to hit us on sunday last I checked, so i'll get to try them out for SURE and give a good comparison to the Rugged Trails.
which means more of this:
Perfect test will be if I can get in/out of my laneway with the silent armors in 2wd. If the CAR can do it at idle, the truck sure as hell should be able to.
Been cruising around all day today with my 4.7 4X2 with 265/65/18 studded snow tires, no problem at all here in Portland, Or. We've got about 6 inches here today so far. Can't stop this truck. Bet that 4X4 Tundra would be a whole lot funner but this 4.7 is doing everything I ask it to do.

Got stuck in Tehachapi overnight on Wed (roads got shut down and closed in Antelope valley) after I went to rescue my wife who drove the Rav4 down to the house instead of leaving it up on the street. had 15 to 20" drifts down at the house. Tundra went everywhere with no problems except did not try to get down to house or we would have had 2 vehicles stuck.300 lbs of sand in back kept the truck straight at all times except coming down our 15% road to valley. Ice was a bitch. Had fun busting by everyone and breaking trail on the rest of the roads. Goodyear SA's did great.

Our recent snow may have you all beat. From Wednesday afternoon to Friday morning it never quit snowing here (Eastern Washington). We set some new records. The snow on the level is varying from 18" to 36". I have drifts around my house at 4 ft with about 20" on the level. It pretty much brought the area to a standstill. Anybody trying to drive without 4-wheel drive or tire chains was guaranteed to get stuck. It's pretty cold so the snow is really light. My thermometer right now says 5 degrees and they're forcasting another 5 to 9 inches of snow tonight and Sunday. This is my 2nd winter with the Tundra and the stock Rugged Trails. I had the tires siped right after I bought the truck and it has gotten around well.
We've got hit with the white stuff over the last week.
Here's a couple pics of "Fang" from this morning.
Here's a few from our Mountain Christmas Tree cutting weekend.
Truck handles fricken awesome in the snow and ice.
