Volant Intake for Christmas

Got th Volant intake for Tundra for christmas...i'm having problems with this intake...i should of taken pictures, but i'm gonna complain about it.... The instructions are horrible....and then putting the allens screws into the intake is bad...i was looking at it, and the two parts don't line up right, two of the holes were drilled off center, so i figure what the heck go ahead and screw the allens in....then i get to two of them were it's hard to tighten down, so i back it out..and try to screw them back down...and i get stuck at the same spot...back them back out and it's stripped can't get them out.....here's my opitions:

A) Cut them off and return it

B) Leave it the way it is and return it

And here's the other problem, the item was a gift for christmas has anyone dealt with Volant with problems? and has anyone else had problems with this intake?

B/C the map sensor screw holes isn't even pre-drilled which is kinda odd too....

I had problems aligning the holes but got it to eventually work. The only thing I left out was the D looking washer because with it the screw wouldn't go in properly. Aligning the filter cover was a little challenging but eventually got it in.

For your situation try returning it or calling Volant, telling them that the holes didn't line and a couple of the threads on the intake are stripped. I haven't dealt with Volant Customer Service so I'm not sure how they are. Anyway good luck with your situation.

That sucks!! For that kind of money, I would expect everything to fit correctly!!

I think the screw holes are not tapped so that when you put the self tapping screws in there it makes its own very nice and tight hole so the sensor doesn't move since it is very sensitive...at least that is my take on it. As for the others I had issues but took my time and everything went really smooth on the install.
