Thank god my wife is afraid to even put the key in the ignition let only drive mine. She says it way to big. This is good for me seeing as she has a hard time parking our Ford Edge which SHE wanted so bad.

Mine is the same way. If she ever decides it's not too big I will get a lift kit!

I had my truck 8 mos and someone hit it in a parking lot and didn't leave their name. The damage happened in a middle school lot. I called their principal and he didn't have his parking lot camera on. I always turn on our cameras during an event at my school (I am a middle school Principal), even if it is on a Saturday. I had a bed side replaced, the bumper replaced and paint match work all for $2300.00.

I have a clean driving record and my insurance went up $25.00 per month after the incident.

I guess you just have to realize that damage can happen and deal with it.

My wife likes to scrub the tires on the curbs...I worry everytime she drives it, which isn't often, that she's gonna curb one of the wheels.

Well, for comparison's sake, I went ahead and uploaded my pictures to my albums. Included is the album titled Wreck.

$15,000 in damage, a month in the shop.

Wife wasn't at fault, rather the 20 year old son was. He borrowed it since his car was not running, to pick up his girlfriend at work. Thank God he took our truck, since turning into the path of a Silverado doing 40MPH in a Honda would NOT have ended well.

Probably saved his life. Stepped out uninjured, as did the other truck's occupants.

Got a new black-surround grille, and re-did the headlight mod... Will post up pics when I finally get it washed

Sorry to hear about the damage, but it doesn't surprise me that they both jumped out of the Tundra unhurt.

Her story is that there was a metal bollard that she couldnt see due to my lift kit and she missed judged the corner and wham....sniff... sniff.... her next few words is what got me thinking "I'da thought it woulda been a bit more tuff..."

So my question to you guys is have you ever hit a bollard going 4mph and done $2100 worth of damage??

it was the 2 piece bumper, fender, underside piece, and readjusting the fender that now pushed into the pass door.
~6000 lbs of momentum into somthing that will not move... you are lucky it did JUST $2100 IMO.

Sorry bout the damage. I always wondered what would happen if a car hit those. I saw a girl do it in her Accord but she hit one in front of her car... she also got lucky to get one filled with water (concrete and water trade off)

All the Tundras I've owned as far as I can remember my wife did only drive my '03 T3 once and thats bout it! Everytime she asks me if she can drive my Tundra I always laugh..these new Tundras are a whole lot different ball game they're a whole lot bigger..I might let her drive when I'm with her but as far as borrowing it to go somewhere forget it!! not even once...

I let the wife drive mine specifically because she occasionally does have "distance judgement" lapses. Instead of her high centering or busting up the mazda going over the curbs in parking lots, she can just drive right over them in the tundra!

Actually the first weekend we had the truck she told me I might as well skip the "maze" at the local ikea and just drive straight over the concrete lane dividers to get to the road. Saved about 5 minutes and got a buncha thumbs up from the other drivers trying to find their way out.

Driver training is a must, i know guys who are just as bad at parking or driving as women. Sometimes "training" involves money and vehicle damage, but it's the only way some people learn. Good to see the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been, and I bet your wife won't make that mistake again.

Mine once cut a corner to sharply in her first car and got a nice dent from the A pillar all the way to the trunk from the concrete post that said "No, you're not going to turn THAT sharply". She's never misjudged a corner since.

If i had that kinda damage i'd just look at it and say "Thanks dear, you just gave me a reason for an ARB/FabFour/IronBull bumper and you even get to pay for it!" (unless we went through insurance of course)

I saw the pics of Ric's 08 all smashed up and had to comment. I was in an identical accident in my '00 - the driver of the Silverado ran a red light as I was turning left on a green arrow. We both stepped out unhurt as well. My truck was totalled. It's funny all the vine-swingers beating their chests. The two times my Tundra was hit it was by men.
