Lets start this story off by saying never let your wife drive your truck!!! About a week ago i let her drive the truck to the store (i was working on the boat or something) she was gone a while and i started to wonder where she had went, when she finally showed up i heard a strange sound coming from "betsy" (truck) it was the front bumper, fender, and fenderwell rubbing the passenger tire while driving(not really rubbing as you can see, but sounds better)!!!!!!! Her story is that there was a metal bollard that she couldnt see due to my lift kit and she missed judged the corner and wham....sniff... sniff.... her next few words is what got me thinking "I'da thought it woulda been a bit more tuff..."
So my question to you guys is have you ever hit a bollard going 4mph and done $2100 worth of damage??
it was the 2 piece bumper, fender, underside piece, and readjusting the fender that now pushed into the pass door.

I'm sorry that u learned this lesson with ur tundra that must turn ur stomach lookin at every day thinkin why did I let her drive my truck. mine wrecked my Titan crew three times then I traded for Crewmax and I won't let her drive unless I'm with her or maybe an emergency maybe! They just can't judge distance or observe what's around them in these big a:; trucks

If she thinks the Tundra isn't tuff, look at my album. That is about a 30-40 mph hit to the side of the nose. We hardly felt it, they went to the hospital. This is one tough, safe truck .

Personally, I find these "my silly wife is an idiot" threads refreshing, considering MOST of the threads in this forum related to truck damage are about how the primary driver hit a pole/tree/garage/drove it into water... Learning how to commandeer a large vehicle is purely based on experience and caution, not your freakin' genitalia. Anyone can be retarded when they aren't equipped to handle a situation.
Seriously, anyone who wants to berate their spouse for lack of driving skills needs to stop complaining and do something about it. It's partially YOUR fault you've allowed them to wallow in ignorance! If you've married someone that isn't into vehicles, and doesn't care about driving, the onus is on YOU to show them the light. Personally, I can't even imagine allowing my spouse to drive like a wanton idiot. Instead of castigating them, why don't you take a couple of afternoons and show them the limitations of the vehicle? It will give you both the confidence necessary to keep your Tundras safe...
To the OP - sorry about the damage. Maybe you can take this chance to change to a new kind of bumper?

Sheet metal on todays cars is made out of the same identical crap. No matter what vehicle you have, it will crumple. Thats the whole idea of having crumple zones. From the looks of it, she turned right into whatever the hell she hit and it nailed it from the side and then back. The chrome bumper in my oppinion should be stronger though, but in that pic, it only looks scuffed.
My 0.02 cents.

2100 as stated above isnt a big hit. and yes some women cant drive. some men cant drive. my wife can drive my tundra well. she was driving an 01 quad cab ram when i met her so she can handle a bigger truck. of course, it does help that shes into cars as well and parks ever so carefully away from anything all the time in her benz or my tundra. but yes, sucks that she tore it up. but if she cant drive it, its as much your fault.
But don't feel bad. My big bad screamin monster pete crunched up when all i did was let off the clutch and hit a post. Didn't realize my steering wheel was turned all the way to the left. So if your half ton got alil kiss on the fender, my class 8 big rig got shredded.
