Default Best place to mount Brake Controller

I used the search feature but could no find the answer. I am sure it is in there but I can't seem to find it. That being said I am wondering where you guys mounted your trailer brake on my 08 Tundra.
    Thanks

I haven't mounted mine yet, but I'll probably mount mine under the dash near the e-brake. It would be nice to mount it in the storage compartment on the dash near the ac controls, but not sure if it would fit, and would need to be able to access all the controls and adjustments on it.

I have the Prodigy P3 and it mounted just fine in the little storage compartment below my A/C controls - and the harness that came with it *just barely* fit - gotta do a little creative looming to ensure it isn't in a bind, but it worked out great - have had it installed since March and no problems.

However you didn't mention which brand you have - they are all a little different in size...

why cant 'yota offer a factory installed one like ford did on some of the most recent super dutys? thhey know we need them and install them, especially since they give us the dam harness for them...or make it a dealer installed item or a toyota accessory that fits like factory installed. shouldnt be too hard. they already did the harness.

RV dealer mounted mine in front of my right knee under dash. easy to adjust and has never been in the way. It was to big for the hole in the dash.

Here's where I mounted mine, easy access in case of emergency.
Some Dremel work, but I like the way it came out.
That's a Tekonsha P3, best stand alone brake controller on the market...I love mine.

Here's where I put mine. There's a perfect spot for it just to the right of the TPMS reset. I take it out when I'm not towing, so I wanted the mount kind of out of the way. It is easily reachable for the surge brake lever, though.

Its a P3 TEKONSHA and I love it. I had the older version and had no complaints. I just wanted to upgrade with the new truck.
It looks better in person almost like a factory part. At night it matches the dash lights so for what its worth It doesn't look like an after thought that it is.
I thought about mounting it under the dash but was worried about my knee hitting it. Otherwise that's not a bad place either.

Her is another picture in the light

Also that compartment just pulls out so aside from some cutting in the back of the box not a hard install. Plus the factory harness is perfect length.

Thanks so much for all the responses. I have a Reese controller that I like but I may sell it and go with one of those Tekonsha P3's. Thanks again.

I mounted my Tekonsha in the same spot as c7fx. The Tekonsha is a very good - if not THE best - controller available based on the reviews I've seen.

Where is the best place to purchase and how much will I be spending on the Tekonsha?

    140ish and I'd look here...
Tekonsha P-3 Trailer Brake Controller - Proportional 90195 : Trailer hitch bike rack and trailer hitches - etrailer.com
They are well known and trustworthy.
Do yourself a favor, spend the 15 bucks on the wiring harness (3040-P)...makes it all plug and play, only one screw for an additional ground. The harness is listed at the bottom of the linked page.
