Just browsing the Hella site and came across these My Hella Lights - TC400 Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

I know our trucks come with the toyota TMPS but it has very little value to me since I check my tires as a routine. The thing that intrigued me about the Hella system is that it gives real-time data on the tire pressure and tempature. This is the information I would like since I would be able to see the info rather than wait till the tire is grossly underinflated or flat for a light to come on.

So here comes the question; I would assume the toyota sensors would be able to give this information (maybe not the temp) but does anyone know if there is a way to use our existing sensors to have a system like this?

Bump for this I have been thinking the same thing and our sensors do give temp as well. Got a print out of temps and pressure for each wheel from the dealer once

That's great news about the temp.

Also I did some digging and came across some more info. The company that makes the system for our Tundras is TRW Automotive linky. They show that they make a basic (which is what we have) and a advanced system.

Haven't called or emailed them yet but it sounds promising.

PS oh ya don't mind my typo, I know its TPMS
