Default Tow mirror question

Ok...this will seem stupid but the salesman told me when I bought my Crewmax with heated tow mirrors that the mirrors go in meaning they do not stick out as far for when my tiny wife drives it(she can't see past the mirror). Is that true or do they just fold in like every other mirror since 1998?

If I understand you correctly. The answer is, they extend, manually, for towing (so you can see beyond your trailer). They retract, manually, for times you are not towing. And they will manually fold back along side the truck, for the drive through car wash, or to get inside a single car garage door.

They fold in just like every mirror if I am understanding you correctly. My truck with the tow mirrors will not fit in my garage with the mirrors in the normal position. I have to fold them in....

OK...how do I retract them for normal use and not towing. I can't find it in the manual and do not want to go pushing/puling on the mirror because with my luck I will break it off

If you don't want them I'll meet you somewhere around Dayton and trade out my regular heated folding mirrors with you

Real men don't need tow mirrors. If you're towing a man sized trailer people get out of your way when you turn on your blinkers, or they get crushed, either way you don't need mirrors.
