I have a 08 Crewmax SR5 4X4 and wanted to get the Limited style Mirror. I have looked at all the install info in the forums and where i am am confused at is, above my stock mirror now there looks to be a round flat black piece attached to the window just in front of the sunglass case. i am assuming it is the antenna for the xm radio. Will this be in my way for installing a limited style mirror?
Can you post a picture? I bought an SR5 and upgraded the mirror as well but I do not remember any type of block there. Of course I did not have the upgraded stereo from the factory either but who knows.
The only problem I really had was the wiring harness being a little too short.

From what I remember from my install what you are showing was not on my truck. That object right there will be in your way. You might want to move that first before you replace the mirror!

I installed my mirror before I had my Sirius unit installed. The mirror connections go right down the middle and have a plastic cover over the wire. The sat antenna is mounted per Toyota install instructions just to the passenger side of the mirror in the shaded part of the windshield.

they must have changed something for 2008. the black module thing in the picture i posted is directly in the way of the mirror wires and plastic cover.
wow,that thing is huge,i have an 08 and swapped the mirror but i didn't have that thing there.from what i can see in the pic,it looks like its held on with doublesided tape,if you heat up the window a little bit it should come right off.then i would just move it over a little bit so you can install the new mirror.
I'm sure it's just on with double sided tape. Just peel it off when installing your mirror. When I got my truck they put a remote start antena there and I had to peel it off and get a new peice of tape for it.
