    Default Radar Detector Mirror Mount

Has anyone tried the mirror mount sold here. I like the fact that they are aluminum and of course that I wouldn't have to use the suction cup mount anymore (which is wearing out). I checked their list and it looks like at least one person has purchased one for the 2007 Tundra. I'm definitely considering it, but for $40, I'd like a little more assurance.

Excellent. Glad that I could help. Let me know how you like it, and pictures would be awesome. If I pull the trigger first, I will be sure to do the same.

That is what I have. And I got it from them.
0.9 fits Toyota Tundra 2007 I got plain one. It uses stock mounts from Radar. Then I got phone wire and pro guy ran it to the fuse box. I like the set up a lot.
Pricey, but that was the only one I saw in 2007 and the fit and quality is perfect.

Hated suction cups, plus hanging wire and as you know the power outlet stays on when you turn the truck off for an hour or so. That is why the radar needs to be unplugged otherwise it is very attractive at night
Saw a lot of crafty ideas here and DIYs, but that was the best solution for me

Well I already have mine wired into the overhead console, so that part is complete. Now I'm just looking for a better solution than the oh so effective suction cups. $40 seems a bit steep for something like this, but I haven't found anything better, and it sure does look good. Thanks for the photo zpaul.

I prefer my free solution on my V1, plus it sits above the rear view mirror.

I used 3M velcro tape reinforced w/ some superglue. Got the velcro from my toll road authority. Same stuff that mounts your toll transponder to the inside windshield. All I did was remove the suction cups and aligned the velcro over the suction cup area.

Why not just mount the detector with the suction cups immediately to the right of the rearview mirror? That's how I did mine - and I didn't have to pay $40 for it either!

During the summer it usually falls of with the suction cups, when the truck sits on the sun.
$40 sound ridiculous, but you get over it after a month or so:crazy:

Coming soon http://www.mgtmotorsports.com/mgt_next.html May be they have a better price?!?!

That's how I have mine currently mounted, but they just don't stay put in the summer, like zpaul stated.

And yes, I agree that $40 is a bit expensive for something like that, but I'm also tired of dealing with making sure that the suction cups are pressed firmly, or dealing with the radar detector falling, and then dangling from the cord while driving.

Thanks for the link, that does look promising. Hopefully my patience will outlast their development.

edit: I just looked at the one that they have available for the V1, and it's $49, so now the other is looking like the better way to go.

It looks much better and is more out of view from passers by when it sits above the rearview mirrow, offset slightly to the right. Plus you can reach it better to adjust volume.
