Hey guys im new to this forum been looking on here for a long time. Needless to say i just sold my 06 Tacoma TRD Sport double cab that was lifted and am looking at getting a double cab tundra with the off road package the thing is i have moved to a new province and my old dealer was great but the one in my area will not budge on the price of a 2009. there is a good deal on now in canada for 2008's but the dealer told me there is none in western canada in the package I would want in any colour. Now dont get me wrong but not budging on the price especially now with the economy the way it is i think is a total BULL i am not looking for a smoking deal the best they would give me is $1000 off. Just wondering what other canadians have paid recently for there double cab off road with the 5.7L? thanks for the help hopefully will get a new tundra soon.
thanks tundrabay i have been thinking about that aswell i just wasnt sure how well I would fair out with the dollar being low and then having to pay GST and PST. Maybe i will have to take a short drive to Seattle or Spokane in the next few weeks.
I bought mine when the C$ was at $0.90 and I saved $12k. Also I bought my custom harley parts when the C$ was at $0.80 and saved a ton due to the high mark up on parts here in Canada.
Anyway, good luck on your search for a new Tundra.

The important stuff is spelled the same ---> RCSB, 5.7L
I can see Toyota being a little more proud of the 2009s because they drastically curtailed production of the same to keep the supply more in line with demand, thus reducing the need to "fire sale" the trucks. I agree with the others....get after a 2008.

Most US dealers are prohibited from selling a new vehicle to a Canadian. I am 15 minutes from the border in Ontario and I couldn't find one willing to sell to me in Michigan.
I paid about $30 and got wholesale price quotes from CarCost Canada. If your spending $40000, whats another $30. It gives you the dealer cost (supposedly)and allows you to know the true value of the vehicle. Add about $1800-$2000 to the wholesale and the dealer should jump at it.
Good luck

hey all, i bought an 08 DC TRD 5.7 Dec. 30 in winnipeg and they were motivated to move on the price, even the local dealer here in NW ontario was willing to move at least 2k$. this is unprecedented as toyota has NEVER moved on price before for me(99 taco and 03 corolla). stock is low however on 08s, mine was one of 3 in all of manitoba. plus you get the 4k$ from the factory still on 08s as an extra incentive. try another dealer, they will ship one in for you from another dealer but you may have to pay some sort of a shipping fee...
just my 2 cents. GL on your purchase and enjoy, I went from a 99 taco to tundra and love it.
They must have changed the rules because I bought mine in Duluth in November '07 and the list price in the US at the time was 42 but they put in a bunch of extras and let me have it for 37. Considering that the CDN $ was worth 1.08 US at the time I got a bargain. A very similar truck in Thunder Bay was 54,000 at the dealer and they wouldn't BUDGE! Bottom line is I saved 20,000 after taxes and even if you don't save that much, you'll still get a better deal in the US if you can find a dealer who'll sell to you.
It doesn't hurt to try, and bringing it over to Canada was pretty easy too.

For some reason the recession has not seemed to impact BC as much as other provinces and the toyota dealers here are not budging on anything. Unless your set on getting a brand new truck I would suggest looking at something used with low miles. You will save yourself thousands of dollars and won't have to deal with Toyota unless it is for servicing...save the cash for the mods you wil want to do!!

IF you go further south of Michigan, like in the lower states closer to Florida, you'll find that there'll be dealers there that will sell to canadians.
