Default What about a 3/1 lift with new wheels, new tires, but still factory size ?

Hey Gang,

I'm wanting to order a Revtek kit for a 3/1 lift for my 08 Crew Max, but I'm just not convinced yet I want to put huge tires on it just for the look.

I don't know if anyone else has, but I'm wondering what if I did the lift and went with a nice set of 20's with some 275/55/20 Terra Grapplers. I'd be happy with the style, I wouldn't lose any sidwall, and hopefully I wouldn't disturb anything else too drastically.

Just a thought... has anyone else done something similar ? I know there are lots of guys with a level lift on factory TRD wheels with the same or bigger size tires, but I'm just curious if anyone else has done something similar.

Thanks

Ok,

I'll simplify this for the people who are dying to tell me to search, as if I haven't already....

Does anyone have an opinion on the wider tire and loss of mpg VS. stock size tire with a more aggressive pattern ?

Thanks

I have the revtek 3/1 lift on stock TRD wheels and stock tires and think it looks better then the stock height so I say it will look fine. When I need tires I'm going to go a little more aggressive and maybe one size bigger tire and keep the 18" TRD wheels. Sorry no pic's yet.

Cool, thanks man.

I'm just having a tough time deciding on wether to go with a wider tire because I'm worried that the upgrade in width, and weight, might not be worth it. That's what I'm debating.

I went from the stock 32" tires to 35's and havent noticed any loss. It probably helped some that I put on a trd cai shortly after changing the tires, but Im still seeing 15.5-16mpg combined on winter blend. I actually just came back from a trip to Portland and I was getting close to 19mpg at 65.
