Re: The "Official" 5.7L Supercharger Problem Thread
Need to bump this thread.
Got this reply from TRD today:
I'm not familiar with any cold air issue involving the 5.7L supercharger they are available for purchase now
My email to them:
I am planning on putting one of these on my truck, but have been
waiting for the cold air problem to be fixed. Is a fix in the works
and is there an ETA for the fix?

hi ,
i hope so, for all of you that invested 7+g's.
you should get all it could be and more.
if not file a class action with a attorney.
i'm sure 1 attorney would be more than willing to take the case.
if nothing else try to get the new's involved. or any mag. you can get them interested in. make up a new thread with only gen2 trd s/c owner's , and send it in. if you have enough people, they might go to print with it.
it doesn't hert to try anything you can or might think of. come on guy's girl's think.
it's your money. hopefully it doesn't have to go to waste.

No need for that, the original guys did all the testing i Southern California so they didn't even account for cooler weather. TRD Japan flew out and helped late last year resolve this and the reflash is being released VERY soon. It was supposed to be released more towards the end of this month but its looking like hopefully (fingers crossed) in the next few days.
We'll keep you updated though!

Re: The "Official" 5.7L Supercharger Problem Thread
I have also been in close contact with TRD regarding the "new and improved" reflash. According to my guy at TRD, the updated programing has it's "thumbs up" from Japan and has been submitted to TIS for dealers to be able to solve the problem. His exact words were "any day now".
I am fully confident that they will have it. Bob has never let me down so far, so I have reason to believe him.
Re: The "Official" 5.7L Supercharger Problem Thread
Awesome!!! I think there are more non-SC owners complaining about it, vs the SC owners that have them.
More power in warm weather... That sounds killer, as when the SC does act up in cooler weather, it does feel signifigantly stronger, then say, upper 70's F... It just stops pulling hard at about 4k... If they are making more power, and fixed the power loss, then this sucker should pull hard in the mid 50's F.
Just hope it doesn't sacrifice any other running characteristics...
Even better, I'm nearing my first oil change and need to get a couple of nags fixed(sqeaking RVM)... What perfect timing.
Re: The "Official" 5.7L Supercharger Problem Thread
there must be two bob's at trd. 'good bob' and 'bad bob'......i must have been talking to 'bad bob'. that _________ (insert) was no help at all! regardless, i could see some sort of class action happening. promising....even speculating a release date is horrible information and logistics management. try doing that to your boss or customer and see what happens. you'll look like a fool every time when you can't 'deliver'. i've been in the parts biz for almost twenty years, the last ten has been selling to our military. i learned a looooong time ago to contact them before they contact me......it's just good business. this garbage of keeping us in the dark and feeding us unreliable crumbs of info is ridiculous.
i.e., if they would approach us and be upfront and honest, then this problem we're having would be much easier to deal with and slake our patience. instead, their arbitrary stance has put us in an uproar do to.....not knowing what the heck is going on or will happen.
regardless.....i hope hope hope that you guys got valid info.
