My 08 has had it's air bag light on for a while. It's the one on the instrument cluster thats supposed to go out after start up. Is there anything I can check/do before I resort to letting the dealership screw with it. The last time we had a light come on when a vehicle was under warranty it cost me over $200 since the wire turned out to have been chewed off. I found the rabbit that did it, and he is no longer with us. I have noticed rabbit tracks under the Tundra, and it makes me wonder.

Are there any other sensors or anything that I can check? I found in an old post that theres two sensors by the rad. If I was to unplug those(by the rad) to inspect the connections, will the air bags deploy?????? I really don't like having the dealerships touch my vehicles...... if I can avoid it. Thanks
Wiggled every connector that looked like it could be involved with an impact and light was still on. Then I found some fuses that were cocked in the fuse box. I reseated all the fuses that looked like they weren't fully seated, and now the light is off for the first time in a while. I guess we'll see if it comes back on.......... fingers crossed. Thanks
Well it's back on again. Maybe pulling the fuse reset it for a while. Does anybody know how many sensors could actually turn the light on. My dealer is out of town and I don't have time to drop it off, get a loaner, drive back, blah blah blah,
A rabbit did it huh. Wow, there is a first time for everything. I can't believe I just read that. I would suggest to take it in to the dealer for the warranty work. Even if a rabbit did chew through your air bag sensor wires, they will need to be fixed. Wow.
unless you are properly trained to deal with the SRS you should have the dealer fix it. All it takes is a touch of the wrong wire and poooof. Also if the light is on they may not be functional due to the problem causing the light to come on. I belive there are scan tools that can scan the SRS via the OBDII plug and you can get close to the problem but still only a trained pro should fix it. Besides if it is a module or sensor they have to cover it under warranty so you get it for free. Not all dealers are after your retirement.

Yeah, I guess I'll give it to the dealer before I inflate a bag or screw something up. I can't see any wires that the rabbits got to, but I didn't think they chewed the Pontiac either. The rabbits also ate 12 out of 20 new apple trees I planted last spring(ate all the bark first 3 feet), all our ewanimus(spelling?) bushes, my new cherry tree, at least one maple, the electric brake wires off my car trailer, etc. 2 years ago a groundhog tunnelled a huge cavern under the cement slab on one of my outbuildings, and I still have no idea how to replace the dirt he removed, short of pumping grout in his tunnel. It's a good thing I poured it thick! If you think thats funny, I had a problem with BEAVERS at the last house. The locals (idiots) kept blowing up their dam to help control our lakes water levels, and when they got low on small trees, they came further up my lawn until most of my smaller trees and bushes were gone. This is getting ridiculous and expensive.
