Okay, after following numerous threads for dash creaks, squeaks, you name it, I've torn my dash apart several times now. Part of the issue seemed to be coming from around my nav screen. I padded the plastic areas that come in contact with the nav unit were it bolts in and tidied up some things and that has helped. I also found the clip that Jumbo had posted in some prior threads and padded that with some felt. It has helped but still have the annoying plastic creaking sound when you turn or go over bumps. I've torn my glove boxes out and searched through there to see if I could find the heating duct underneath the front right speaker but after investigation, no creaking sound was coming from there. I've also pressed in on the plastic tray that hides the wires for the Homelink rear view mirror but still have the creak. While driving today, I noticed that it seems to be the mirror itself. I've tried tightening it up, but the mirror just seems to creak.
Has anyone else encountered this and if so, is there a fix for it? Creaks, squeaks and the likes drive me nuts I'm sure like many of you out there.
Thanks

I had the exact same problem...thought it was the dash(nav area) but finally found out it was the mirror... when you squeeze the mirror, it does creak(spelling)... I was going to have my dealership just replace the whole thing, but before I brought it in, I finally found out exactly where it was coming from....
The telescoping cover that runs from the mirror to the headliner was the culprit... I simply pushed the top piece more into the headliner, and go figure... I haven't had the creaking noice for over two weeks now...
I also found my bed squeek on big bumps/potholes... and was fixed by just re-torqueing down the bed bolts....
Interesting. I did push on the cover to try and pop it into place more as mentioned in some prior threads but I'll try what you suggest next. Figures that it would be that simple after spending all this time to try and find the culprit...
No issues with a bed squeak yet but I commonly hear that with many, many trucks. When mine starts, I'll give that a whirl too.
Thanks

I had the dash squeak too, at 1000 miles. Took it in yesterday for its first oil change (went synthetic) and the dealer did the dash squeak TSB. Better now, but I do have the mirror squeak. I'll try your fix and let you know.

So I don't have to go digging, any idea what the torque spec is for the bed bolts? If not, I'll find it somewhere. TIA!

I have 28k miles on my truck. It started the dreaded dash/rear view mirror rattle and creak a couple of weeks ago. I swear it's the mirror one time. But the next time I drive, I think it's the dash. It's driving me crazy. I'll try the telescoping mirror wire cover tonight and hope it works. If not, I guess I should feel lucky that I haven't had any differential or tranny problems.

You're lucky, mine has 1800 miles and it did it from the drive home from the dealer

Same problem with my 07 Tundra. It started about 3 months ago and has been driving me absolutely crazy. I brought in during inspection and oil change and the tech told me it was "ice build up" sound went away for the ride home after he took me for a spin. However I have found that it only creeks when it is cold outside 40 degrees and under. Once the sun hits the dash there is no creeking noise at all. Problem is that I live in NH and it is always cold in the AM. Not a fun and relaxing drive on the way into work... Anyone have a fix for the dash creek?

I do not know... I just put some nutz on them, and the sqeek went away... JFYI... they all had different TQ on them, as in...some spun more than the others... judging by my wrenching strength...
If it comes back, I will definetly look into putting some green loctite on the threads, and then TQ'ing them down to spec...

Holy disappearing squeak Batman....Okay, I was a bit skeptical, but low and behold I just drove it for about 10 miles and couldn't hear the squeak at all. Albeit, it's not cold outside at all right now. The true test will be in the morning but that was the first squeak/creak free drive since buying the truck in February. Thanks DawgBonez.

Toyota has a kit, covered under warranty. Mine was quiet until they replaced the clock. I had them put in the kit and it's dead quiet again. 42,000 miles including a lot of off-roading. I am very impressed how quiet this truck is, and I have one of the first 07s built.

Rear Susp: ProComp ES3000 #326510 (2.25" taller than stock), 1.25" blocks plus PRG mini-pack (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...and-new-truck/) gives 2.25" total lift, parking brake cable bracket spacers, wheel well height 43." Front diff and rear ds drop; trailer hitch electrical harness tucked up above bumper. After 20K miles swapped 305/65/18 BFG AT for 285/75/18 Toyo AT, still on stock 18x8x60 offset TRD wheels, about 1/8" clearance to sway bar. Like the extra height but miss the width. Next time either 305/70/, 295/70, or 35x12.50/18. Added 5th 285/75/18 Toyo AT as spare. Bed Bounce: Stiffer E-tires are worse than stock P-metric; biggest improvement from PRG mini-pack, slight improvement from shocks. Still a stiff ride but tolerable now. Best things about this truck: 5.7 and transmission, interior size and comfort, very quiet at high speed. Worst things about this truck: bed bounce, no VSC in 4wd, mileage sucks above 70.

I just had my dash creak/click repaired. The dealer told me there was a TSB for replacing the dash retainer clips. Part # 55345-0c020 they did not give me the TSB #
My noise was temperature dependant only made noise between 65 and 25 degrees. I could push on the dash near the glove box and it would make noise along with making noise on small bumps.

Do they have to remove the dash to replace the clock? I had my clock and radio replaced along with the dash sag fixed figuring they would have to remove the dash for the clock. Long story short, all they did for the dash was stuff material in the corner instead of installing the clips they ordered. Now I am wondering if they ever replaced the clock, especially since it was loosing time (2 to 4 hours a day in the heat) the next week after replacement. I never took it back because I'm tired of running this back to the dealer for warranty work.

Kewl man... glad it worked(or appears to)... and don't blame you for being sketical... LOL..silly fix for such a silly problem... It might just be a HomeLink mirror thing... dunno
You have no idea how anal I am about shitts shuffling around in any of my rigs... I get so irritated, that I can barley see straight, and more than often have to pull over in a rage to locate and rid of the noises...
