I did mine today. I got the color matched door handles a week ago and it still wasn't what I was expecting, closer but not quite. So I thought this might get it right.I wouldn't of did this mod if I was going to tint my windows but I can't since its against the law. I think the black looks better with all windows tinted. I only did one side, didn't have time for the other. It was alot easier, cleaner underneath it,and no residue than I expected. I think the mirrors will complete the look, but thats not going to happen for awhile, if ever. With the mirror I don't know if should do the whole thing or just the cap. The whole mirror just seems to much to me.

This mod took me 10 mins for one side. It would of took less time, but you learn as you go. I started on the back side of the door first, not the easy way. You should start on the part thats underneath the moulding and it will take 5 minutes at most. Mine came off in one sheet and no residue on the paint and I used no heat gun or blow dryer and it wasn't even sitting in the sun.

I think it looks much better without the vinyl.... Just my 2 pennies worth...

I say go all the way with the mirrors as well...

My friend saw mine and wanted to do his. I told him it was easy, but fore warned about possable flaws that others have stated. He has a slate crewmax. His had 3 swirl marks on the passenger side about an inch wide:shocked:. He didn't say anything, but I know he hates me now. But mine were perfect underneath. It looks like someone washed it with the rough side of the kitchen sponge

I just noticed something that hasn't been discussed (that I saw). After peeling off the vinyl (which happens to be all scratched up on my week old used 07), you still have that strip at the bottom that connects the two windows. Can you not cut that where each window stops?

I know everybody has their own opinion about this mod, but to me it makes the Tundra look more refined. Personally I think the vinyl looks cheap, especially after seeing with and without pics side-by-side.

Truck looks great - nice work!!!

just did this today to my 07 silver met.... i think it looks great! Most people recommend using a hair dryer to make adhesive easier to work with. But after sitting in the sun for awhile i just went out and peeled it right off may have taken me 15 minutes total! and I think it is a nice free mod that in my mind adds beauty to the truck. I do see why it was put on though, cuz it does hide the door jam well and it does make the appearance the the windows are big especially the back ones. All in all I am please with the look after removing this! next thing I am taking off his the badge with the I-force 4.7 V8. I am going to leave all the other badges though!

Like others said mixed reviews on the MOD, personal preference I guess. dont think it would be hard to get some black vinyl tape and put back on if you didn't like appearance though

ALRIGHT......For all you CrewMax 4x4 SUPERWHITEs, I will be doing this tomorrow!!!! Wife said she likes the look without the cheap vinyl. Although all we can go buy is the colors that have been posted on here. So tomorrow count on some new pictures of a Superwhite 09 CrewMax with this mod done.
