Default Removing Black Vinyl From Doors

I noticed a couple of Tundras with the black vinyl removed from the front and rear doors. I'm referring to the black area at the back of each front door window on a double cab.

Is it body color under there, or is paint work required?

Forum member Marky Mark doesn't have them on his silver Tundra, and I personally think it looks sweet. Just wondering what's involved in getting them off...

Not trying to be a forum nanny...but if you do a search there are some members that did this mod. Mixed opinions for sure.

I pulled the vinyl off the door...

Several members took theirs off and found paint blems underneath. I guess how it looks also depends on your truck's color.

I love modding trucks. My personal opinion is that, the lighter the color, removing the black vinyl cheapens the look of the truck. It reminds me of a Dodge Dakota.

My truck is white, so I don't thinks it's a good mod for me, but...if I had a black truck, this would be a must do (freebie) mod.
