beboff Re: TRD 5.7L Supercharger - Dyno Test & Tune

I just got the URD MAF in. Going next sat.to dyno tune. I am near ATL.GA. I will video, let's see what happens
Can you take a picture also, of where on the fire wall that it will be mounted, since the vacuum tube is not very long. My performance upgrades have been sitting on my garage floor for awhile now due to the many misfires that I am having with the TRD SC. The dealership is taking care of this issue as I speak.
Anyways, Thanks

I will take pic.It says to put it inside the cab to prevent water damage.Maybe the dyno shop will have some extra hose.I don't no why it is not longerAre you using any gas additives? How good is your gas where you live?I put a gas additives/octane boost in once and it caused misfires

My instructions also states a location where water will not enter the unit. So that is why I am asking how you are going to set up with the short tube. So I think I will have to take it apart and look also.
91 - 94 octane is what I use.
They (dealership) are professional and will find the problem and resolve it.

Will more than likely have to add more tubing.I will call gadget at urd in the morning and ask him.
Tubing for what? I didn't have any type of tubing when mine was installed - it was all wires. I bought the calibrator wihout the MAP sensor on Gadget's recommendation. Did you buy the one with the MAP?

Yes i got it with the map sensor. This is what he recommended for easier tuning or is that BS?

Some guy who does not work there anymore (I have his name somewhere in a e-mail), suggested this map sensor. I e-mailed and verbally suggested to this guy to confirm with Gadget and this is what arrived at my doorstep.

Gadget told me the same thing- that i needed the MAP sensor (vacume/boost) if i have the s/c. he even said that if someone was going to s/c in the future they should buy the MAF calibrator with the the MAP sensor option for later.

I bought the one without the MAP sensor - just for reference. Gadget also told me that he's tuned a few TRD S/C'd Tundra's with these. I've heard there are multiple ways to set these up to interrupt signals. Something about load based vs. flow based for reference. I don't think it matters which one you really have, but I'd like to know why and how you would use the MAP sensor to tune. I'll try and get Gadget to chime in...
I've got 2008 5.7L Supercharged, installed and tuned by dealer. No Dyno test but seems very strong and runs good. I'm lost when reading about other tunes ya'll are doing. What would be my next step for more power.
My computer says 17.4 mpg and I wondered about that. Haven't bothered to put a pencil to it. Maybe I will believe the computer ,makes me feel better.

Gadget told me the exact opposite (recommended NO map sensor option). Wonder why he's suggesting both options???

I do have Bolar exhaust.

You will get better mpg with the S/C.If you drive it normal, but that is very hard to do0w20 also helps a little.I drove easy for a week around town and got 17 mpg
