So I had my bed sprayed with Linex and when rinsing out the inside of it after a trip to the dump I found there are three little cavity spots where linex is now soft and dissolved; almost looks like something ate through it.
My dad has some other type of liner in his truck and he has carried a variety of harsh products in his truck as well as dropping heavy stuff into it and he hasn't had a problem.
I've never carried anything harsh in my truck as my job and hobbies don't require it. The only thing I can think of is I took a bbq to dump in it and some of the charcoal powder may have dropped on the bed.
Now I'm thinking I should have gone with Rhino liner.
Sounds a lot more like a problem with the installation than the product.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like maybe it wasn't prepped right when sprayed; take it back and have them fix it. How long has the place that did it been doing liners? If they are new to the business, you may want to find someone who has been doing them for a while.

Note sure how long the guy has been doing it. I know that he has done entire fleets. He said if I have any problems bring it back. I'm not sure how he is going to fix it when the cavities are about the diameter of a pinkie. I just hope the installer doesn't say the warranty is void because he feels chemicals did the damage. Like I said, I never carry chemicals.
When getting my first truck sprayed a guy brought his truck in that he had dropped a pipe in at an angle and it gouged a pretty decent hole in the Line-X that was probably about 3" long. After they repaired it, you couldn't tell that there was ever any damage. I have no doubt that they will be able to fix your issue.

Definitely sounds like a surface prep issue. Also, from what you describe, sounds like it could be a issue with how the ingredients of the Line-x were mixed. Anytime you are dealing with a 2 or more part product, you can get spots where the curing agent wasnt mixed right. Then you get soft spots where it isnt cured to full strength. Either way, its not the norm for line-x. Trust me.....I have had both line-x and rhino...........line-x is a better, longer lasting product.

I only asked because the place I took mine to had brought up that they had to fix some of the liners that a different shop had done, that hadn't been doing them for very long and was no longer in the business.
I gotta agree, it sounds like a freak thing or possibly a bad install. Mine is 2 years old and still looks as good as the day it was done, and I abuse the heck out of it with all kinds of stuff.
I've gotten oil and gas spilled on mine and no signs of softening or breaking down. I've had mine for 4 yrs now and is holding up nicely. I even cleaned some of the oil off the liner with carb cleaner too, still no breaking down of the liner.
I had that happen to my old truck, after four years. Took back to the installer and they fixed it for free and in a few minutes. No questions asked.. Take it to a diffrent place if you think they might have screwed up the prep work. Any LineX dealer can fix it.
