Re: So mad at Toyota I am having trouble typing!!!
Good luck dealing with Toyota corp. Ive had 15 things break on my truck and they just look the other way and find any excuse they can get. You may have to file arbritration to get there attention but it doesnt do much. Remember they have had major losses the past couple months and they are not going to give anything away like they used to.
Re: So mad at Toyota I am having trouble typing!!!
I've been reading the posts regarding Tundra issues for sometime because I was in the market for full-size pick-up. After reading issues of tail gate and bed bounce, I am glad, I did NOT buy a Tundra. I'm sure it is a good truck. But I don't want the hassle. So what did I buy instead? 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab. Good luck with your issues with Toyota.
Re: So mad at Toyota I am having trouble typing!!!
I've heard this complaint before.. some bend and some don't - go figure. If you want it fixed here's what you need to do.
Post your you tube videos, post everywhere until the media gets a hold of it and runs with it. You see the current perception is that Toyota doesn't care and frankly they really don't until someone with some meaning complains.
Sorry Toyota that's the simple preconception most of us have for your business. Everyone remembers when TMS USA used to visit the forum when the whole copyright issue was raised. Well that quickly went away and well, so did he .. lol.
You see that's how it works. If there's no real negativity from your complaint then they're not going to help you. Post your issue to the media and then Toyota's own band-aid crew will be pulled into action.
One can always hope for the day when Toyota will sit in here and quickly fix these issues when they're raised. However the preconceptions is that right now they just don't care enough to do anything about it.

Glad to see you're still an active member on the Tundra Solutions board.
I have not yet had the fight with my dealer, but based on the service I have received thus far, they are going to politely tell me to f.o. I am in Canada and I do not recall anyone getting theirs warrantied here. Additionally, my vehicle was imported from the US so my dealer will not be going above and beyond for me.....
Best of luck to the OP, I hope it does result in a tsb. its crazy that some are getting theirs replaced and others are being denied.
For now I have decided to live with the tailgate to see if it gets any worse from loading/unloading my quad and snowmobile. While I have an early 2008, I kind of wish I had waited and gotten the updated tailgate. In addition, while I know others have had no issues as far as paint matching, I had some body work performed and they had some difficulty matching the paint correctly.
Re: So mad at Toyota I am having trouble typing!!!
I would like to thank everyone for their quick responses. I just posted this today and I already have 2 pages!!!
Moving forward can we please try to post as much info as possible regarding known failures and pictures. Maybe we could include VIN number of trucks that had the failure????
I think that would definitely make denial a lot harder for Toyota if there was a list of VIN numbers.
Hmmmmmm.... I think we're onto something.
If you want to PM me or email me I will compile a list of VIN numbers and present that to Toyota. This should almost be enough for them to have to admit the problem huh???
Again thanks to all who are with me on this quest to get Toyota to own up.
Please if your read this thread subscribe to it to keep up to date with my progress!!!!

Re: So mad at Toyota I am having trouble typing!!!
200#s?? Ha, I've gotta give my friend at toyo Corp some hell over that, I never knew it was that flimsy, seems like you could park a truck only rams tailgate. I've shot hogs that weigh nearly that much (no cracks about dating fat chicks, I'm talking bout boars, not last call at the vfw)
I guess I'll have to do a search in these tailgate, I just assumed it was when yer loading a 4wheeler etc. So I could break this thing just sitting on it by myself?
